Favorite Trail:All over Orange County
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $240.00
Purchased At:REI
Strengths:Long battery life. Rugged battery "sticks" to frame. Light weight system. Beautiful beam. Nice headlamp mounts.
Weaknesses:Flood light is weak. Doesn't "flood" anything. More like just a "diffused" light with light being bounced back into the headlamp.
Similar Products Used:NiteRider Minewt X2 Dual
Bike Setup:Trek Hard Tail
Bottom Line:3 hour battery life is key for this system. The competition (NR 400 Dual) only has 1:45 battery life.

The Stella 300 wins the dual tourney right here.

The NR 400 Dual's 1:45 mins is nothing. Keep in mind the annoying red warning light comes on at 1:15 mins. With the NR 400 Dual, you'll be stranded on top of the mountain at night with no light left.

The Stella Dual's flood capability is kind of a joke. Does not throw out much light. It almost seems like most of the light bounces back into the bulb with the diffuser lens.

But, the other 150 lumen headlamp with no spot throws a gorgeous beam.

Not sure why Light and Motion did not just go with 2 150 lumen headlamps (no flood).

Construction of light is outstanding. Connectors are watertight and snug.

Battery is a work of art. "Sticks" to top frame. Small and light. Rugged construction.

When it comes to duals, you don't have many choices.

The NR's run time is low, not practical.

Between the 2, the Stella is the way to go.

Once you go Light and Motion, you probably will not want anything else.

I am upgrading to a 100% Light and Motion line of lights on bikes for my entire family. After owning a Light and Motion product, I am now a believer. Lights with outstanding design and construction. And, the highest quality beams in the business!

FYI: I also own several NiteRiders and one Cygolite. L and M takes the cake!
