$400.00 | | Purchased At: | CC | | Strengths: | Light bike with a strong frame making a good base for upgrades. | | Weaknesses: | Wheels. | | Bike Setup: | Rigid (Kona Project 2) fork, PD-M515 pedals, Ritchey Tomslick tyres. | | Bottom Line: | This bike would be just ideal for casual off & on-road riding if it weren't for the weak wheels - even moderate offroad riding will bend them so count on frequent visits to your local service for trueing the wheels (front especially). This has prompted me to replace the tyres and use it for asphalt exclusively. Otherwise, this is a great bike and well worth upgrading - strong and light cro-moly frame is an ideal base for upgrades. If you replace the wheels and front fork you'll end up with a respectable hardtail and spend less than you would on a new bike with similar characteristics. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$265.00 | | Purchased At: | Wheels Bike Shop | | Strengths: | Very light, Hutchinson tires corner well. Even though I don't have a big ass, the bigger comfortable seat is nice. Bike is very responsive to my every move.
| | Bike Setup: | Stock | | Bottom Line: | This is my second Kona, the other being a 2001 Stinky. Riding home from the bike shop with the Hahana reminded me how long it has been since I have rode an unsuspended bike! I bought this for city path riding only, and it delivers. Very light and ultra responsive, strong steel frame. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$349.00 | | Purchased At: | Valley Cycling and Fitness | | Strengths: | Most everything. | | Weaknesses: | Front Fork is a bit too mushy. | | Similar Products Used: | Giant Boulder, Specialist Hardrock | | Bike Setup: | Stock | | Bottom Line: | Great bike!! It's so light compared to my old beast. I'm just getting back into biking and with a bike like this you will wonder why anyone doesn't bike. Smooth ride, strong frame. And you just can't beat the price. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
