great all round, i can ride on the street i can freeride and i can dirt jump on it, for the money its great. over time upgrade it and you will have the best bike in town.
Weaknesses:
the headset broke after 3 months, well it was still useable but i got a chris king. its a bit heavy (when picking it up to get over fences) and when manuling, the forks are a bit tinny and spring a bit to much for my liking
Similar Products Used:
kona scrap, kona stinky, dmr sidekick
Bike Setup:
chris king headset, dj 1
Bottom Line:
this bike is really good, its perfect for almost anything. the only bad bit about it is how quickly the headset went. and how tinny the forks were, its a great bike and you can do abit of everything on it. a exelent buy, i would recomend it

Strengths:
Strong frame...Good bar bend..light,
Weaknesses:
The fork breaks easy and doesn't have good rebound. The rims isn't very strong and spokes losen so you have to tighten them lots or they will bend.
Similar Products Used:
Kona scrap - trek jack one
Bike Setup:
Sun rims single track new hubs and spokes don't know name
Bottom Line:
the kona shred is a good starter bike but the forks are just spring and the wheels break easy, and the frame is as rigid as I would like it 2 be. I broke the fork a few times and had to replace my rims cuz the kept braking. Its a good bike for about a year and that god its not 2 expensive because you probly should get a new bike the year after you buy this one. It only konas entry Dirt jumping bike so even thou it may sound like a bad bike in this review is just because its only a entry level bike. it is worth the money but eventualy it will start braking when you get better and get 2 rough for it.
