$5000.00 | | Purchased At: | Bikers Paradise | | Strengths: | a lot of travel, fun to ride, | | Weaknesses: | This weekend my frame broke just above the cranks due to a bad welding seam. | | Bottom Line: | I had a lot of fun with the bike till now, but if you pay that much money it shouldn´t brak apart after two years. (It wasn´t new when I bought it.) Thiw was definetly the last Kona for me. I can´t afford a new one! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Bonanza Date Reviewed: June 3, 2002 | | Favorite Trail: | aint tellin' | | Duration Product Used: | Tested or demo'ed only | | Strengths: | it's a monster, period. Nice forks, super plush, has front changer, and bash ring. through axle rear hub. nice Mavic rims. 8" rotors fr. and rr. I like the 2.5 tioga's. | | Weaknesses: | Price (OUCH!) for the price it should be full xtr. bobs pretty bad The 8 inchers were squealers. | | Similar Products Used: | Stinky primo (very nice hard core trail machine, my dream bike). | | Bike Setup: | Just stock (which is killer). | | Bottom Line: | I only demo'ed it and couldn't find any really nasty drops, but found an ok set of stairs. I don't think that the stair drop used even half of the travel. It's a killer up the hills, but you just have to slide back in the couch of a seat and pedal slowly and steadily, and it'll get you up the hill. You won't run out of traction goin' up with those big meats! I wish I could've found some nastier down hills, I know it would have roasted down them.
I'll only give it three for value 'cause 4 and a half G's is a lot of money. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

| | Similar Products Used: | Specialized Big Hit Comp Giant Warp DS 2 GT Aggressor 1.0
| | Bottom Line: | Top value for money on a very reliable fr/dh bike, stiff as hell, plenty of travel, sharp handling, absorbs all kinds of drops big and small, and most of all, plusher than your couch at home! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
