$430.00 | | Purchased At: | Local bike shop | | Strengths: | It's a good frame if your just starting out and is also good to upgrade. It came with quility shimano STX/RC rear deraler. RST 281 fork and good aluminum wheels. | | Weaknesses: | It's heavy. Doesn't have very good componets (front deralers, brakes, stem and bars) | | Bike Setup: | Rock Shox Judy fork, XT rear deraler, LX front deraler and brakes. LX levers and shifters. Mavic CrossMax wheels with IRC mythos tires. Titec seat post, stem, and bars. Sella Italia Flight seat. | | Bottom Line: | If you want a cheap bike that is worthy to be raced, go with the Crest. It won't disapoint you. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Visby Date Reviewed: June 24, 1999 | | Duration Product Used: | less than 1 month | | Strengths: | Great components Nice paintjob Fine-handling Nice price Groovy paintjob | | Weaknesses: | No front suspension Weighty | | Similar Products Used: | Parkpre CrMo bike Merida CrMo bike (Somewhat lower components, ~ same price) | | Bike Setup: | Straight out of the box. | | Bottom Line: | This bike rocks pretty damn hard for the price. Relaxed and natural handling that eased me right back onto the single-track, even though I used to ride a full-susser (damn you, f___ing thieves!) I'm already feeling pretty confident doing some speed. I'll be adding a front shock a$ $oon a$...It's a real kick-ass bike at this price, I can't see any reason not to buy it if it fits your wallet. And if you're aiming for something more expensive... why not take this and buy some ______ (insert favourite beverage/hobby item) instead? I doubt that this bike will disappoint. | Overall Rating: |
