$375.00 | | Strengths: | Price, reliability, and quality components | | Weaknesses: | weight, and crank gears hit frame | | Bottom Line: | This is the first Mountain bike I have owned, and it has performed better than i ever dreamed seeing as it cost under 500 bucks. I have put some money into it, including a manitou magnum fork, and it is now the perfect bike for me. This bike is great, and for the price, it cannot be beat. If you are someone new to the sport, this is an aluminum framed hardtail that is easy to upgrade, so go for it. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

I ride this bike about 4 miles every weekday and it is just killer. The performance is great and it's just an all around great bike. | | Weaknesses: | It comes with a standard grip shift but I had that replaced with rapid fire shifters and it rides great now. | | Similar Products Used: | I came off of a Norco Team T1 and I like this KHS a hell of a lot better. | | Bike Setup: | It has Acera deraileurs front and rear, Shimano rapid fire shifters and shimano brakes, Sporty SE shocks, and RIMS. | | Bottom Line: | for $350.00 it's an awesome ride! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

I recently purchased a modified '97 KHS 500 w/RST front suspension and alivio gearsets. The bike was one of three I tested, along with bikes from Cannondale and GT. The price and overall performance made me sway my decision to the KHS. With minor upgrades on the deraillours and crank set the bike is about as nice as I can get for $500. An excellent upgradable front suspension bike. | Overall Rating: |

I have purchased a 1992 KHS and I really enjoy it. The speed it purchases is really enourmes. It will take me from 0mph to 60 on a down hill of about three miles long. I enjoy my bike very much. I would really like to purchase a BMX stunt bike, if any one has one for sale contact me at Doggfather6969@hotmail.com.Please contact me. Sincerly, Anthony Craig Perry | Overall Rating: |

I have recently purchased an Alite 500. After blasting around on it for some time it has delivered in every way. Some minor tweaks were needed though as far as the brakes and shifting, but the deal I got was great. This is a bike that you can hammer on all day long and it just asks for more. | Overall Rating: |

I recently purchased the KHS Alite 500. I'v made some long rides in te golan mountains, foundd dthese bikes very capable. Some upgrades are must (crank, pedals, brakes), but I got good deals at my KHS dealer | Overall Rating: |

I bought a 1992 KHS Montana Pro and was so unimpressed with the product support offered by the bike shop I purchased it from and KHS that I have vowed to never buy a KHS product again. Within a few months of purchasing the bike I began having mechanical problems which were never fixed by the shop. I wrote numerous letters to KHS, none of which were ever answered. I am a capable mechanic so I fixed, and paid for the necessary parts, all of the problems myself. The bike itself was very capable (rate it at 4.5) but product support was non-existent (rating of 0). | Overall Rating: |

Hi, I love my KHS Alite 500, my boss at work highly recommended this bike and also got a killer deal from the MTB shop. Anyways, the bike is resposive and makes me look really cool!! I love it.
I recommend this bike to anyone who wants to impress their boss.

I'm just getting started and recently purchased this bike. My choice came down to the KHS Alite 500 and the Cannondale M300. I went with the KHS for three reasons: 1, The Alite 500 was more comfortable in test rides than the M300. 2, The Alite has better fittings. 3, I could still afford to add a Judy to the Alite! | Overall Rating: |
