Bottom Line:the frame is built to weak. Its a good bike for smaller stuff but if your jumping frequently than problems will come. but it wold be a great bike for someone that likes doing a little bit of jumping and does some crosscountry bt is not good if your doing any kind of downhill

Favorite Trail:The road to the end
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $215.00
Purchased At:Ebay
Strengths:Nuclear bomb proof, I can't seem to break it. 10 foot hucks to flat ground, on pavement. Back kinda hurts, but the frame keeps on rollin'. The price, its cheap.
Weaknesses:Kinda noisy, and some people might say it weights too much.
Similar Products Used:Other Frankenstein, downhill/freeride set ups.
Bike Setup:KHS/Romic/Marzocchi,dropoff/Avid,bb7/Shimano/Nokian gazzaloddi2.5/Mavic321/Truvativ,holzfeller/
Bottom Line:If your looking for an inexpensive way to bomb down the mountain at speeds in excess of 45 mph, then buy this frame. If your looking for something to smash over rocks, huck off of cliffs and take switch backs with ease. Buy this bike. People love to talk trash about KHS. Thats okay, let em' They're the ones who have just dropped over 2 grand into their bikes. We're the ones passing them on the trail.

Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $215.00

Strengths:Built tough. I have abused this frame to the fullest extent, and it keeps on going. 10 foot drops to flat pavement, no problem. Corners good, and feels really stable going fast downhill. Cheap.
Weaknesses:People that bi#ch and moan about weight will say that is weights too much. I however feel that this helps me get up to speed during desent. No major weeknesses.
Similar Products Used:?
Bike Setup:Drop off, Romic, Avid, KHS, Shimano, Nokain
Bottom Line:Looking for a cheap solution to your downhill blues, buy this bike. Worried about what everyone else thinks about your 500.00 dollar set up, when they paid close to 2 g's. Well then you've got consumer blues. 12-21-12. ARMYOFRAGE.com

Favorite Trail:Angelous Oaks
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Strengths:Strong Bike
Weaknesses:Little heavy, Derailer hanger really sux. But ther cheap
Similar Products Used:A Bunch of different bikes
Bike Setup:Literally nothing stock, Singletrack wheels, xt hubs and drivetrain, Pushed fox rear shock, Marz z150 Juicy7 brakes
Bottom Line:Follow up reveiw, been riding this bike hard for about two years now, and i hammer the crap out of it. Gone through a couple wheelsets now, but thats from my own lack of smoothness. Many crashes, Many hits the bike should have not survived, but this thing keeps rolling and doesnt let me down. Won a couple DH races on this one Down at Fontucky. Not the best bike in teh world, But if your short on cash, and you want a bike that is going to hold up, this is the one for you.

Submitted by Tervor a Downhiller from Boise, ID
Date Reviewed: February 27, 2006
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $400.00
Purchased At:Bob's Bicycle (They have an ad in MBA)
Strengths:Strong, cheap, and really pretty pedal efficient for the travel.
Weaknesses:Not much, except the fact that people don't think much of KHS, due to their limited advertising budget. They use the money they save on ad's and pass the saqvings on to you.
Similar Products Used:Cannondale Gemini, Specialized Enduro, Kona Stinky
Bike Setup:'03 Marzocchi DJ2 130mm travel, Tioda DH wheels, RAceface Diablous Cranks, Sram X.9 Drivetrain
Bottom Line:This bike kicks ass. I have hit several 35+ foot road gaps, and the pictures and proof are in the pinkbike photo's segment under boise for any doubters.
Essentially, 6 inches of rear travel is all the same, and I can't say that you can feel any significant difference between this bike, and any other bike using the most used suspension linkage ever, the four bar.
My friends all thought it was crap till they rode it, but not anymore.
And for $400 for the frame, seat and seatpost, headset and front derailure(sp?) it's a hell of a deal.

Price Paid: $400.00
Purchased At:Frame only, Ebay
Strengths:This bike is sick, Adjustable travel, The whole thing
Weaknesses:NONE
Similar Products Used:KHS dh50
Bike Setup:Custom build
Bottom Line:First of all why is everyone braging about 5 and 6.6 foot drops on hardtales. I did an 8 ft drop on a specialized hard rock and I'm only 12. And the guy at the bottom is a total retard. He probably rode over his plastic ramp, ate sh!t, cried for a few hours, the he noticed that his tire had popped, so he came here and made a story about a-line and his bike faling apart. KHS IS SWEET

Strengths:Smooth rear suspension action, low maintanence
Weaknesses:a bit porky but nothing major
Similar Products Used:Stinky, San Andreas
Bike Setup:custom build
Bottom Line:If you can, buy one. Not too many of these flying around down near LA, but there should be. They're cheap, durable, smooth, as nice of a suspension design as any "faux bar" 6 inch travel out there. Geometry is perfect with a 150mm fork.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1500.00
Purchased At:Bike Coop
Strengths:Lots of bike for a good cost. Six inches in the back isnt too shaby either. I can case the lips of landing w/ my back tire and it does not phase me.
Weaknesses:I found that it has been making a clicking sound when i pedal hard up a hill. I think it may be coming from the swing arm bushings but dont know for shure.
Similar Products Used:none
Bike Setup:stcok
Bottom Line:Awaome bike. I just whant to know were the clicking sound is coming from and if anyone has experienced it. But besides the annoying sound the bike perfoms better than i expected. On all of the drops ive hit it landed nicely, and it jumps well to. If you are looking for an entree level bike this is a great buy.

Date Reviewed: July 7, 2003
Favorite Trail:just about anything that goes down
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:The bike is sweet. Soft on landings, but stiff enough to climb small inclines.
Weaknesses:A little heavy, but, then again, I am only 135 lbs.
Similar Products Used:Giant VT2, Cannondale Gemini 900
Bike Setup:Chris King headset, stock
Bottom Line:OK, real quick- the bike's not mine, it belongs to a friend of mine, but what the hell? That moron who posted all that crap should be hit in the face with his supposedly broken frame. Not only did he pay over 3 times the msrp ($1500), this was probably the first bike he's ridden since he got off his trike- if he's off that yet! The "FR" in it's name stands for (for you idiot at the bottom) "freeride"- it's DESIGNED to have the hell bombed outta it. You obviously arn't supposed to try what Bender tried at the beginning of Fat Tire Fury, but it's not a pu$$y bike. The bike can take drops bigger than I have the time to build, so unless you landed on A) landmines, B) boulders, or C) 5 tons of TNT, you're full of sh!t, buddy. If you're trying to impress someone by lying to us, you didn't. Your mom might believe you, but then again, if she has any sense at all, she'll also see right through your crap. The bottom line? With this thing, I have come down DH courses screaming like a banshee, taken drops, jumps, and rocks with no problem, and I have yet to need to buy a replacement bike for my friend.

Favorite Trail:North Shore/ Urban
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Price Paid: $1300.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:great frame, extremely beefy, yet affordable for the free rider just getting into the niche.
Weaknesses:supposedly the frame and cranks and the fork will rip off the bike and break in half if you ride like a puppy.
Similar Products Used:'03 Specialized Enduro Pro/ Free ride specs
Bike Setup:I ride an Enduro, but am looking into this bike for another bike.
Bottom Line:well I have never ridden this bike, I just wanted to tell you the guy who left the first review of this bike is a complete moron, and needs to learn how to tell a real story. I was almost run over by a little old lady in a speeding golf cart pulling a trailer full of green jello today. I jumped out of the way as she ran over a WWII land mine and caused the green jello to explode into the air and cover a bunch of nearby kids at a play ground. Sasquatch came down from the mountains thinking.. oooh Green gummy bears... my favorite. I think thats a believable story don't you. anyway. This bike is made for abuse with it's 4 bar linkage design, sealed bearing pivots and aggressive parts package for the price, you can't beat this for affordability. a little on the heavy side, but I've got a specialized Enduro beefed up to 40 pounds.. so who's worried about weight? not me. either way, you can't go wrong with this bike.

Favorite Trail:Freeride
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $1500.00
Purchased At:Streakx
Strengths:A good bike for hard freeriding, very stronger
Weaknesses:It's not lite (4200g in size L) and rear travel is too little
Similar Products Used:Kona stinky, Rocky mountain switch
Bike Setup:Hayes brakes 8",Rims Mavic D321,Dj3,Fsa alpha drive, stem kore DH, bar Titec hell bent

Favorite Trail:Colorado Riverfront bike path
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $1499.00
Purchased At:Bike shop in Grand Junction, CO
Strengths:Light for a FR bike. Good brakes. Good fork. Supa strong frame.
Weaknesses:Not light enough. I could probably lose my gut to even it out though.
Similar Products Used:Specialized big hit comp. I rode a rental one for a day once. This is my frame of reference.
Bike Setup:Stock. Out o the box
Bottom Line:KHS has done it with this bike. The rear shock was under spung for my fat a##. I had to get a stronger spring. The front fork is a Fox. Too bad it isn't a bomber with a QR20. Deore stuff sucks. It is the first to go. But as a bike for 1499, I couldn't beat the price. If I parted it out I would make my money back on e-bay. I like the frame for my big ol arse. It will definately take some punishment. Overall a good intro to the semi heavy FR bikes. It will still climb. Though not like a hard tail.

Strengths:great tough bike
Weaknesses:fork could be better
Bike Setup:stock
Bottom Line:The guy who said he cracked the framed is an idiot. don't listen to him. KHS makes great bikes that aren't too expensive and are extremely tough. That guy doestn't like the fork so he decided to make up a bunch of crap to make the companie look bad. He should have been the one in the hospital(provided the story is true). Plus, the bike is to good for him. He can't even handle a 3ft drop. My friend has done a 5ft on his Jamis hardtail. As I said the bike is to good for him so he uses a supercycle.

It makes the company look bad when its actually great. And what the f**k is the guy doing on the sight. this is a site for people with real bikes, not for people f*cking saying they would RATHER have a supercycle than a KHS. Bottom Line:This bike is awsome,
I was on the A line and when off a 3footer and hit the ground and the fork poped off nailing me in the head as i fell, at the some time the cranks split in half. Jamed my nuts on the top tube, as I continued sliding the back wheel flat spoted flew off and hit me in the head again. I was almost done my slide when, the frame cracked in half and flew in to the guy waiting on the side of the train putting him in to the hospital for 3 days. After my adventure with my bike I think I'll stick to supercycles.
