Fox Float AVA RLC rear and Fox Float RL Front Shock. | | Bottom Line: | I loved riding this bike, and I am very disappoint that the frame failed. Seems like a design problem. The break appears to be a result of the seat tube flexing, failing under load just below the rear shock mount. The frame broke not as a result of a big hit, but normal cross country riding. I first noticed problems with gear changes, 10 minutes latter the frame went, looks like it cracked first then sheared in half. Although, I broke 2 frames in less than 6 months, and I don't ride it that hard. I don't know that others are having this problem?? Warranty only covers 2 years, though KHS has been good about warranty replacements. I will likely move up to a tougher bike now like a Trek Liquid.
Swing arm bolts hit the frame if you bottom out the suspension, leaving two little dents. Fixed on the 2003 model though.

I was really surprised how much faster I can ride on this bike. The suspension is efficient on climbs, and loves technical climbing. In last weekend's race, I made up huge gaps on technical sections of the course.
You should buy this bike if you want a fast racing bike at a reasonable price. You should look elsewhere if you want massive travel or the latest, most expensive suspension gimmicks.
This is a great bike and a reasonable price.

This geometry is better for me - shorter top tube on the large. This is one fantastic ride! Super smooth suspension with little or no bob and doesn't feel like you're on a trampeline. The sid shock has a rebound adjuster which actually works. I put this bike through several races and some pretty hard riding and it performs beyond my expectations.
