$200.00 | | Purchased At: | manufacturer | | Strengths: | really bright lights similar to xenon lights. The low beam is wide but still reach far ahead on trail. High beam is quite far but not narrow as turbocat or niterider. High beam is wide enough that I donn't develop tunnel vision while riding at night.waterproofness of case, good electrical cables.much cheaper than nite rider, turbocat etc. I am from Canada. With the price of product and shipping fee, the final cost is about $400.00 Cdn clams. It sounds expensive compared to regular commuter lights but it is much more durable and less expensive than all other rechargable lights. it is more expensive than nite hawk version of Cdn light. However, I found nite hawk battery was even heavier. Nite hawk handlebar mount was not as good as jetlites. I had to decided to get jetlites after considering all factors. I saved up money to buy it. I also got the helmet version too. I will buy the new starfire helmet soon. | | Weaknesses: | heavy, heavy battery water bottle style. High beam lasted only 1.5hr. It was the pinnacle of light technology at that time. Nite rider battery last same time as jetlites. | | Similar Products Used: | nite rider, nite hawk for test ride. | | Bike Setup: | 2000 specialized rockhopper hardtail, stock seat tube, no name high end gel saddle I got from MEC, raceface forge crankset, slime bb.raceface handlebar, shimano LX brakeset and levers. Mavic 517 wheelset. This wheel set is suitable for light riders. DO NOT use it if rider is over 130lbs.My bike rocks. it is light. | | Bottom Line: | cost effective compared to fancy xenon lights. For godsake people, it is already too bright. You don't need xenon light like nite rider. Besides the blueish color of xenon light cause distortion in your night vision when riding a bike. It is difficult to explain in this small paragraph. trust me on this. This is a mtb lights not your car headlights.I give 4chilli because battery weight was heavy and battery time was not as long as I like | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$235.00 | | Purchased At: | Universal Cycle Portland OR | | Strengths: | Great lighting and lasts long enough I don't need to worry. Don't have to worry about keeping track of charging - the unit automatically determines the level of charge needed. Can get enough light with one light but often I'll use both to get the extra light when I'm not going over 2hours. Attaches easily. | | Weaknesses: | I wish I didn't have to use one of my water bottle holders to hold the battery. | | Similar Products Used: | Cygo and Nightrider. | | Bike Setup: | Trek 2300 - This year is the year to get a new bike.... | | Bottom Line: | I'd buy this light again. I love this light. Compared to the others I've used - this light takes away all my worries. I don't have to worry about charging a certain amount of time and not longer and I don't have to worry about the light running out in the middle of the trail. I've had both of those problems with previous lights. I ride almost exclusively at night a couple times a week so a good light is important and this one is it! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

These were some of the first lights that JET produced, with the old style NiCad batteries, old connectors, old mounts, and old housings. I damaged the cords and one of the batteries, but I had them repair it and their customer service was awesome. I also bought a single beam 12 watt helmet light to go with the dual handlebar setup, and it really is much more light than is necessary to ride in any of the conditions I've encountered. A single 12 watt JET light is adequate on either the bar or the helmet, and a 20 watt added to it is just luxury because the beam is so bright and wide. That said, I think the ideal setup is to have a 12 watt single beam with battery and a 20 watt single beam with battery, and put them wherever you want; both on the bars, one on the helmet and one on the bars, or even both on the head (which I wouldn't do because I ride in a lot of fog and rain and occasional dust). | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$200.00 | | Strengths: | I am a heavy user of the JET system. In addition to my daily commutes in Santa Cruz, CA, I also have competed in several 24 HR mountain bike races. I believe that the JET is a great system, significantly better than the Night Rider that I previously used. The JET system has given me over 2 years of flawless performance and typically, I only need the 20 watt light, even in the rain. I am very impressed with the durability of the system. It has been drenched repeatedly on the commutes as well as being banged around on night mountain bike rides. The modular configuration permits me to easily configure it for the commute (single beam) or an MB ride. (dual beam) In the winter months, it seems as if I am commuting both to and from work in the dark. With the 20 watt single beam mounted on my helmet, I know that not only can I see well, but that I am very visible to automobile drivers. I recommend this system and feel that it is by far, the best I have used. | | Weaknesses: | NONE | | Similar Products Used: | NIGHTRIDER | | Bike Setup: | HELMET MOUNTED, FOR BOTH COMMUTINGT AND MOUNTAIN BIKING | | Bottom Line: | The best system that I have seen on the market. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

The price tag is very reasonnable when compared to similar dual beam system. I travel to work 3 to 4 times per week and have unpredictable hours. My biggest fear on the road is to be hit by a car in the middle of the night. I have not been ignored yet by any cars while flashing 32W at them. At 12 watts, everything that was ridable during the day was ridable at night. At 20 watts, I could keep one eye closed. (I never even tried 32 watts.)
Also, as everyone seems to note, the customer support is excellent. With 3 days notice and for a paltry 20 clams, Jim at JetLites sent two batteries and a quick charger for the weekend, thereby removing any concerns for our team about running out of juice. I saw several teams with light failures, but not a sinlge one was using JetLites. Another rider I spoke to was told by one of the bigger light companies that they were too busy to send any support to this event and that ALL of their extra batteries and chargers were going somewhere else for the weekend.
Bottom line is that JetLites are worth every penny you spend on them. I'll take a small company with great products and support over a big name company any time. If your choice is between the JetLites and something less expensive, eat mac & cheese for two weeks and spend the money for JetLites. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

The 20W (flood)solo will outperform any other manufacturers dual beam hands down. Pair that with the 12W (spot) and nothing short of the sun itself will throw light like that. Luckily, I cannot report on the crashworthiness of these but all reviews below will attest for the durability. Shortly after posting my review, JET got in touch with me a let me know that they released a new mount design into production shortly after I got my lights. They explained the differences in the designs and expressed a genuine concern that I wasnt completely satisfied with their product (4 out of 5 chiles isn't BAD, though!!). Anyway, I bought the new mount and was very impressed when it arrived. The design is totally bulletproof, where before they were relying on the tension of a thin plastic prong and a weak snap fit to keep the lights secured they now have a (difficult to describe adequately) sliding lock which firmly traps the light to the mount. Even better, they added the ability to aim the light side to side and the angle and reach of the new mount keeps the lights out of the way of my Hope brake lines and fluid reservior. Much, much better design and a refreshing additude toward customer satisfaction. JET is tops in my book! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

After the usual research and agony of trying to choose, the Jet folks helped out by telling me which lights would suit my riding terrain (Vancover's North Shore) Jet was right on the nose. The run times were as stated on the web (but not in instructions - I ran out 10 minutes short of ride's end), but the lighting was excellent. The other riders (Niteriders and Vista with Niteriders) commented on how I lit up right past their beams.THE IMPORTANT STUFF: Jet says to go slow and be prepared to be disoriented. the lights were so good I rode as well as in daylight on some extreme trails I'd never been on (dont' try this at home kids), but what a blast, and no disoreintation. I maybe need another battery to extend run time, but other than that and a gauge, I am very satified. One major head plant, enough to cause serious back pain for a week, did not even scrtch the lights. Go get these..theyr'e great, the support is excellent, and I'm a happy owner. | Overall Rating: |

It blew his mind when I swithed on the 32w dual lights!! As their literature will explain, these light run on higher voltage and therefore put out more light per watt. These lights are lightweight, modular (so you can set them up in various configurations and have a uniform beam pattern without dark spots. My wife bought these lights for me through Performance Catalog. They screwed up the order and sent me last years lights with this years helmet mount. When I called JET they replaced the housings on my light free of charge so my set was compatible, even though it wasn't their error! So the company is as good as their product. | Overall Rating: |

Just got these lights a few weeks ago. Decided on them based on the writeups on this site. These lights are great. I've also used Nightrider, and ride with someone with Nightrider dual beam and single helmet mount. The Jets are brighter, but even more noticeable is the quality of the beam. The lights put out a much better pattern than the Nightriders. The 20w flood is fantastic on tight single track on a helmet mount. You see everything like it was daylight! My only problem at this point is trying to get a second battery so I can run both lights (32w) with better than 1 hour run time (Batteries are out of stock). 20w lasts for 1 hour 20 minutes, 12w lasts for 2 hours. The stated times from the manufacturer are right on. The lights themselves are also noticeably lighter than the Nightrider. Great light...what can I say. Go buy 'em. | Overall Rating: |

I have seen the light and so has everyone else for that matter! It’s as if the people at Jet Designs some how harnessed power directly from a solar flare. Turn these lights on and it’s as if someone dropped a neutron bomb right in front of you. At first I was blinded by the blast but when my vision returned what laid before me in the beam of my Jet Designs Dual was sheer wasteland! The cars around me sat on their rims, tires melted to the road, their occupants nothing but chard skeletal remains and dust. I thought this to be but a dream, that’s until I turned my lights off and realize without them mankind would be plunged into nuclear winter. Yes I did see the light and now you do too! | Overall Rating: |

I bougth these lights just from reading the product reviews and let me tell you they are definitely the BOMB!! I've had them now for about 3 months and can't get enough of night riding. They blow the Niteriders and Schwinn Mode away. I ride alot of technical single track and I mainly only use the 12 watt light and sometimes switch to the 20 watt (very rarely). These lights are BRIGHT. I ride just as fast at night as I do in the day. Night riding is great especially with these lights. You've got to get them!!! | Overall Rating: |

Jet Design Dual Beams are fast becoming the first choice among riders on Mt. Tam. With steep fast decents and bottomless cliffs, dull yellow lights and heavy batteries are more than a drag. I ride a single speed and haven't used my NightRider since I bought my Jet Design 1 1/2 years ago. The difference is amazing. Jet Design (dual helmet mount) has a powerfull white light and a light weight battery that fits into my Camelpack. If you're serious about riding at night, I recommend Jet Design. | Overall Rating: |

Jet Lights RULE! We were riding down this trail trying to get back to camp before sundown but there was no chance. We ended up riding back in the dark for another hour on an unfamiliar trail. The trail was pitted with pot holes and loose gravel at times. The Jet Lights proved to be a worthy investment as they lit the trail with ease. As I looked at the lights some of my buddies had, none of the other lights came close to the clarity and brightness of these lights. I have been running Jet lights dual beam set-up for over a year now and they have been the best lights I've ever had. Pick yourself up a set - you won't be sorry! | Overall Rating: |

I nite ride 5 to 6 nites a week on hardcore technical trails the jet lites are unreal. They put out some killer britewhite lite and thats do to there 13volt system and excellent litebulbs. They lite up the nite like a nuclear blast.I've been using them for 2yrs now and have had no problems.I discovered them at a local bike store and was blown away by the design and lite weight. The modular design is great. You can run a single lite on your helmet and not even know that its there, so light.A very cool set up the lites even run cool. You can even hold them after running the plastic housings really don't get hot. Some kind of voodoo material Wow!Blows the other lites away, I say get a set you'll be stoaked!... | Overall Rating: |

Well, I just bought this light because it is the newest thing I have seen. I work for Mountain Equipment Co-op, and these are by far the best light set they sell. I find the handlebar mount isn't really adjustable, only because the head lamps hit my brake levers. I need to get myself another handlebar mount, so I can divide the lights up and get more control of where I am Lighting. I wonder if these guys have a homepage.... Anyways, they are bright as heck, light, and durable. Great lights, but expensive | Overall Rating: |

I purchased a Jet Design dual beam lite about a month ago. I ride two or three nights a week with a group of friends who mostly have night ridder systems. My Jet lite completely blows them away!! It's way brighter then their lites and weighs a lot less. I would have never believed it worked as well as it does with out tring it. If your interested in a new lite this is the only way to go!! | Overall Rating: |
