from Toledo, OH Date Reviewed: May 24, 2001 | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Price Paid: |
$350.00 | | Purchased At: | Wersell's Bike and Ski Shop | | Strengths: | Fairly light for price range, above average fork for price range (manitou magnum), decent component package. Great entry-level bike with good upgrade potential. | | Weaknesses: | Tires could be better, lame plastic pedals | | Similar Products Used: | Kona Blast, Nunu, and Lava Dome, GT Agressor | | Bike Setup: | Stock, except for Time clipless pedals, and better tires (Specialized Dirt Control front, WTB Velociraptor rear) | | Bottom Line: | I work at a bike shop, so I get to demo a lot of bikes, and this one was just the best for the money I could spend (I'm a poor college student just getting started in mountain biking). A comparable Kona with the same parts package was $150 more, and the Jamis still had better forks. I love the way it rides. Overall I would say that this is an excellent entry-level to intermediate bike, and the value is unbeatable. I will do an update once I have some more trail time on it. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
