Price Paid:
$1300.00
Purchased At:
mail-order, ionicbikes.com
Strengths:
Great bike as it climbs like a goat. Great setup by Ionic, frame sizing specifically.
Weaknesses:
Ionic does not know how to setup a chain. The chain was way too short. The chain seized on the top/front chain ring yet was not even close to the top/rear chain ring. The derailer hanger bent when trying to get the chain loose.
Bike Setup:
Shimano XT brakes, never ending squeal from those damn XT's. After 1 year, I changed to SRAM 9.0's.
Bottom Line:
Anyway, Ionic customer service is the worst, just try to get them to help once you have purchased their product, they wont. I cannot get them to send me a replacement derailer hanger. Ionic said they sent it but would not provide a package tracking #. I never got the product in the mail either. Ionic is now telling me to contact the manufacturer, Kenesis. Ionic tells people they build their own frames, they are not, Kenesis does. Overall the bike is good but if you buy don't count on Ionic to help with any problems that might arise. What you can count on is a bunch of lies.
