Strengths:
This is a great bike. I don't think anything else in this price range even compares. I've owned it about 6 or 7 mos now and have relentlessly punished it 1-2 times a week on long, mostly technical trails and it has held up like a champ. The only thing I've had to replace so far are the brake pads.
Weaknesses:
The only thing I plan on upgrading are the tires. The stock tires are OK but can feel a little squirrely when landing airs at high speed. Some fatter treads would no doubt help with that and would probably digest the rocks and roots a little better too : )
Some have complained about the seat but it doesn't seem that bad to me (probably because I'm rarely on it when I ride).

All parts are stock.
Bottom Line:
If you want a very capable MTB for not alot of money this one is a no-brainer. I compared other bikes in that price range in the local shops and nothing else even comes close.

The bike is solid. I have had no problems and was easy to assembly when it arrived. I was not sure about purchasing a bike over the internet but it has been a very good experience and I saved some money. I would highly recommend the IBEX bike to anyone.

AWESOME FRAME! NEVER PUT IT TOGETHER...BUT THE ENTRY LEVEL COMPOENTS LOOKED OKAY! I'LL DOENATE THE PARTS TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT...THEY'LL USE THEM TO FIX UP BIKES AT X-MAS.
Weaknesses:
MOST RIDERS WOULD'NT AGREE...BUT SOME WILL! Shimano MTB PARTS SUCK! BUT THE DURA ACE SYSTEM IS #1....

Not a lot. For the price, none.

Bike Setup:
Out of the box, new seat, pedals, and riding like I stole it!
Bottom Line:
I wasn't sure I'd like mountian biking, so I bought the cheapest bike I could find that I felt was "trail worthy." I got a Trek seat and pedals for it and hit the trails at UWF. The bike's very much up to weekened trail riding, even with my 220 pounds on it. So far, I've replaced the middle chain ring, two rear spokes, and I've had to Loc-Tite the crap out of the bolt for the left-side crank arm as it's waddled out twice while riding. I've got about a thousand miles on it (guessing, 700+ since I got a computer), so that's not an unreasonable amount of problems given that it has to hold my weight off the ground. The tires that came with it were terrible for sandy Florida, but I've put them back on since moving to the Oak Mountain area and they do very well on the harder surface. The fork is an undamped springy stick so it's not the best for big downhill action, but I ride with the preload at less than the maximum so I suppose it's about as good as you can expect for $300 shipped.
The bike's more than served its purpose, I'm hooked on mountain biking and shopping for a full suspension cross-country bike.

Bottom Line:
Ordered on Thursday (late), got it on Wednesday. The bike went together in 15 minutes. Shifts great, stops well , no rattles. This bike cannot be beat for the money. If you're an expert or pro rider and are going to make unrealistic comparisons, be prepared for unrealistic results. Put this bike up against anything in it's price range and the pick is easy. I'm really glad I did my research on this one. I got exactly what I wanted for a more than fair price.

Strengths:
Looks great, overall the components are good. Comes with tools to assemble and touch-up paint (which comes in handy).
Weaknesses:
The derailer is jerky and the chain has fallen off a couple of times. You can only get it off the internet (I think) so you cant ride it or try it on for size, but as long as you take accurate measurements and follow the bike geometry page it is fine.
Bike Setup:
stock
Bottom Line:
This is great value, possibly the best value of all hardtails. Great for people looking to ride around doing moderate off-roading. Do not expect to take this bike on serious downhill trails (then again, I would not suggest anyone take any bike in this price rage on a downhill trail. Great bike for kids, teens, adults, anyone. If you are short on cash and want to ride some moderate trails, this is the perfect bike.
