Favorite Trail:Ridge Trail
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $650.00
Purchased At:ibexbikes.com
Strengths:Great strong frame, Not heavy at all like everyone says,,, its 5.5 pounds!!! i havent seen a carbon fiber FS bike thats equal to that weight,,,
Weaknesses:rear shock is not that good of quality, ive got to get mine rebuilt already cuz its not holding air after a certain PSI., its not that great of a climbing bike...
Similar Products Used:KHS alite 500 HT, Marin FS
Bike Setup:Rockshox duke race fork, avid bb7 mechanical disc brakes, xtr rear dérailleur. mavic crossmax wheels.
Bottom Line:my bike weighs in the 25 to 26 pound range, and im sure with lighter components i could get that easily down to 21 - 22. it handles excellent, it's very responsive and takes anything i throw at it, i have never had a problem with it. the clearance is all there incorporated into the frame, it has a nice big cutout so you cant rack yourself if you come off your seat.

i think that any rider would quit before this bike ever will.

Date Reviewed: August 23, 2004
Favorite Trail:Snow Basin Trails
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $450.00
Purchased At:Ibexbikes.com
Strengths:Well balanced frame, good climber, even better in the downhill, good sealed bearing pivots and solid construction, good looking bike, and a great value with excellent customer support from Ibex.
Weaknesses:Little heavy, low mud clearance and Ibex’s quality control needs work (My frame came with a bent derailleur hanger and a faulty Rock Shox Bar rear shock. As soon as I contacted Ibex about the problems, replacement parts were in the mail the next day.)
Similar Products Used:Giant NRS, Giant VT
Bike Setup:Rock Shox Sid fork, LX drivetrain, Hayes disks, Mavic UST rims on XT hubs, and Schwalbe Jimmy tires
Bottom Line:I bought this frame to build up as inexpensive second bike, and I have been impressed so far. I have ridden it a half dozen times myself and my friends use it almost every weekend. At just under 30 lbs, it’s a comfortable all-day climber with good downhill qualities.

I would recommend the Apogee Frame to any one who is looking for a good frame at a great value.
