Date Reviewed: August 10, 2002
Favorite Trail:Prokopske udoli (Prokop`s Valley in Prague)
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $18.00
Strengths:Excellent traction on hardpack, gry gravel and mud. Ideal for fast tracks. Very stiff sidewalls, minimum snake bite and punctures.
Weaknesses:None known
Similar Products Used:Panaracer Dart II/Smoke II, Hutchinson On the Rocks II
Bike Setup:Amulet Maxima w/ Shimano STX/LX components, Marzocchi Zokes suspension fork, WCW V-brakes with Tektro boosters (Hardcore:), VP clip-in SPD pedals, Hutchys Rock X-country 2 (front, 26x1,95), Hutchys On the Rocks II (rear, 26x2,10) Mavic rims 220UB
Bottom Line:I have ridden these tires for almost 5 years (5.500kms on it!!!!). They are excellent, I love them. They never disappont me. I have used them on very rocky terrain - hardpack with dry or wet mud, sand and very often on gravel in our wood in Prague. I had only 2 to 3 punctures for a 5 years! Never had any snake bites. I like downhills. Yea, I know...this tire is not suitable for hard downhills, but the tire had always excellent traction without common wash outs and slides. The self cleaning in mud is very good too. The compound is very, therefore very long lasting...I will recommend these tires for everyone, he loves fast XC with some downhills and fast tracks on hardpack..
btw. the side knobs are very stiff, they never come off! They grips like glue:-)
