Not pricy.I can't categorize it to all-mountain because it can handle freeriding and downhill courses.
Weaknesses:
Color. I've changed it to white. Some OEM parts such as the brakes(juicy5), rims, stem, and cranks. The fork feels a little soft.
Bike Setup:
Haro extreme x7, just modified some parts and added a chainguide system.
Bottom Line:
Worth every penny. The bike can handle everything you threw at it. Not a famous brand in MTBiking but a good bike to start with. Accommodating customer service though i am overseas.

the stock shock. my bike is an 06 so i had a manitou metal. it will do for the first season but u willlll want another one. i chose the swinger 4 way. it makes the bike a lottt more plush and absorbes bumps with ease.

I really like this bike. the parts spec is bangin for 2k. just jack the seat up your ass and pump it all the way to the top of the hill, it isnt that heavy. as far as going down? it hauls. i havent had the chance to hit up any resorts yet, but im confident it will get the job done. drops feel great and it begs to be ridden!

well im a huge fan of sram. so naturally i was pleased to have the x9, juicys, and the totem. most all the parts are good on this bike. the suspension works very well. the springs in the fork are spot on for my weight (160lbs.) and the medium size feels true and fits great
Weaknesses:
the rims. they plain suck. unfortunately the front tacoed on the very first run on this bike and i ended up having to spend some extra cash to get some wtb laserdisc fr rims laced up. there also was an issue with an employee of haro suggesting they might give me a new rim/wheel and turning around and saying they dont handle the rims since they are sun ringle. kind of sad that they wont help me with something they sold.

This is my first true downhill/freeride bike. Its handles great in the switch backs a pain to climb up hills but over all it is great. I have take it to the local moto cross track and jumped it and it eats up the drops on our local down hill trail with no problems. I am going to change out the stock tires they don't feel like they grab well in the soft corners and the rear shock is going to be changed out to a fox dhx. Also am going to change out the brakes to avid. It came with a drop off II that works great. over all the best deal you will find for the money. ride it hard and it won't let you down.

Great Bike for a first or second freeride and minor down hill bike i have done a couple good drops and the suspension opens up nice. i don't like the coil for the rear susp. its to solid and not to good for hard down hill, you can change the spring for like 20 bucks and make it a new bike, the fork is a little stiff opens up nice on drops but it is hard to find a happy median of to soft where it bottoms on a big drop or where it is to hard for some bumps on the trail. i would recomend this bike for somebody who is fairly new or who doesn't go really big and then once you start needing more susp. upgrade the for and shock, it will be a lot less than a new bike and give you the same effect. and the price is the best in its class.

This product is built very strong and performs very well. The suspension is great. The single pivot rear suspension is very strong and reliable for a 6'9"-270 lb rider like me. I use the bike for a super-cross country bike/freeride bike. I love being able to ride uphill, which it works suprisingly good for, and then take a fast smooth rolling single track on the way down. At my large size I don't do any drops over 4 feet, but it probably could handle it. The geometry is great! I can pull the front tire up when on a downhill just by leaning back and pulling the bars. I have never bottomed the suspension. A++++
Weaknesses:
Apparently the suspension is "okay", but I have never owned anything better, so this suspension is sick! The bike is a little heavy (around 40 lbs), but it is fine for someone who is strong like i am.

2006 Haro X7. this bike is amazing for $950. speced out really well. it is nice and stiff for pedaling and soaks up hits when you drop. i went from a 5inch travel bike to this and it almost made me a better rider over night. 8inch hydro brakes stop on a dime. frame is strong and beefed up all over, but still not as heay as most 7inch travel bikes. stock mine was about 40 pounds. i have changed some things and it feels lighter now.
Weaknesses:
manitou metel rear coil shock. this thing is way to stiff for downhill or just aggressive trail riding. i only weigh about 140, but i hear this from everyone i know that has this bike. website says it comes with a very horrible manitou stance blunt fork and i almost did not buy it for that reason but came stock with a marz. drop off II

if you are looking into getting you first freeride bike, then this is the bike for you. you can not find more bike for this price new. stock it felt a little front end heavy but i changed the fork and the tires and she drops nicely.you can huck this bike and it will soak it right up. it is pretty alright for jumping also because the platform on the rear shock is nice. i you plan on going down any hills fast then i would change the rear shock or get the 2007 (i think it comes with a swinger 4way which is on my buddies bike and is super plush). it is just way to stiff for the small to med. bumps. this bike is not to heavy and still strong enough for freeriding. for the price i dont think there is much else out there that would beat it.

I just love this bike. 1've been rideing it for a short period of time, but can't stop smileing every time i sit on it. If you're loookin' for an all-mountain, freeride bike, look no further-Haro X7 is the one. Very affordable, yet great performance. Only thing i must put as a weekness are brakes. Hayes Sole hydraulic disc brakes are not so far from my Hayes MX-2 mechanicals i have on my XC bike. Only thing going for them are 8" discs Haro stocks on this bike.

The X7 is built for abuse, I've taken it off 10-15 ft. dropps never bottomed it out. The tires are great i can lay the bike right down and be sure i won't loose traction. awesome stopping power With the V8 rotors. It also came With the Marzocchi Dropp Off II front fork, very solid.
Weaknesses:
Front Fork has a little wiggle but i think thats normal for this particular type of fork. It's also a little heavy for racing up hill. The gearing is low enough though for cassual up hill climbing.

Bottom Line:
For $1500.00 Your getting a beginer downhill bike. All of the other bikes I looked at that were as good as this bike were twice the price. I would Highly reccomend getting this bike.

This bike is incredible! I have done every kind of hard riding you could ever put a bike through, and this had handled it all. The bashguard that comes stock on it is a great feature. Most places I've seen says that is comes with a Manitou Stance Blunt, but mine came with the Marzoucchi Drop off II. In my opionon that is and upgrade. It is not very fun to ride uphill so this is not a bike for a cross-country rider, but a great bike for the hardcore downhill or dirtjumper. This is a great bike.
