Submitted by Eric T a Cross Country Rider from San Antonio, TX
Date Reviewed: January 12, 2005
Favorite Trail:Texas Hill Country State National Area
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $1200.00
Purchased At:Sun & Ski Sports
Strengths:Superior ride and absolutely fantastic components. I've had zero problems with the bike and it has been well used
Weaknesses:I have yet to find a weakness. One modification i've done is a remote lockout for the Fox Float RL in the rear. Greatly helps climbing to lock on the fly
Similar Products Used:Cannondale Jekyl
Bike Setup:LX up top and XT on bottom. Fox remote lockout for rear shock. Chopped an inch off of each side of the handle bars (tight between trees)
Bottom Line:Fantastic bike and i highly recommend it to anyone who can ride at or above an intermediate level. It surely has made me a better rider. I have yet to reach the limitations of the bike, which means that I'm holding myself back at this point. I did take the bike off a 10' drop and it performed flawlessly (too bad the rider didn't....ouch) WORTH EVERY LAST CENT!

Date Reviewed: May 5, 2004
Favorite Trail:BIG CREEK
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $800.00
Purchased At:SUN,SKI & SPORT
Strengths:GREAT BIKE FOR PRICE. FULL SUSPENSION WITH LOCKING BACK SUSPENSION. FRONT FORK IS ADJUSTABLE FOR THE RIDERS PREFERENCE. BIKE IS EXTREMELY LIGHT AND TAKES CORNERS WELL.
Weaknesses:NO DISC BRAKES!!!!! WITH ALL THE VARIOUS UPGRADES HARO COULD HAVE INCLUDED DISC BRAKES.
Similar Products Used:GARY FISHER & TREK
Bike Setup:THIS BIKE IS FOR INTERMEDIATE RIDERS. BEGINNERS PROBABLY WILL NOT KNOW HOW TO USE THE MANY TOOLS THAT THIS BIKE IS EQUIPPED WITH.
Bottom Line:THIS WAS A GREAT PRICE FOR HOW MUCH BIKE + ACCESSORIES I RECEIVED. I CAN HIT TRAILS & RACES AND COMPETE WITH MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE MOUNTAIN BIKES. THE THUMB ACTION GEAR SHIFTING MAKES GETTING IN AND OUT OF SEVERAL GEARS SEEM ALMOST EFFORTLESS. I AM DEFINITELY SATISFIED WITH THE PURCHASE.

Submitted by Gene a Cross Country Rider from Port Charlotte Fl.
Date Reviewed: April 2, 2003
Favorite Trail:Myakkahatchie
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1800.00
Purchased At:Bycycles Unlimited
Strengths:Light weight, surprisingly stiff ride, great climber and jumper. Shifts like a dream.
Weaknesses:Flat handle bars and the stem was way to long (all easily fixed). Not as much clearance as I expected other wise this bike kicks major ass.
Similar Products Used:Had hardtail
Bike Setup:1.5" riser bar with a 40 degree stem everything else is stock.XT drive train.
Bottom Line:As a cross country bike this bike rocks. Cornering takes a little getting used to if your'e used to a bike with a shorter wheel base. Believe me its worth the effort. This bike makes me a better rider than I really am. The Fox Float is totally adjustable and can be locked out on the fly and the front fork inspires total confidence. This bike will have you grinning from ear to ear as you smoke the trail. BUY THIS BIKE you'll be glad you did
