from San Diego California Date Reviewed: January 10, 2003 | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Purchased At: | Alan's Family Bike Shop | | Strengths: | Full Chromoly Frame and Fork. Shortened fram for the smaller riders. Excellent price point for this quality of bike, best entry level FLATLAND bike available. Haro Turbine Freecoaster (allows you to roll backwards without engaging the pedals and "back pedaling" - MUST HAVE) works really well, is 14MM & Sealed!! Traditional geometry refined by Chad Degroot, 75 Head tube angle, 69 Seat tube angle with an 18.8" Top Tube makes this a truly classic bike. Really liked the 28t sprocket small and out of the way, overall gearing is perfect for a true flatland bike. | | Weaknesses: | Tektro Brakes are not as precision as i would like, but should be adequate for a younger rider. Bars felt uncomfortable, would prefer a lower crossbar. Haro needs to bring back the ZERO OFFSET fork, especially for beginning riders. | | Similar Products Used: | Haro M7, Quamen Clad, Standard Tao, Hoffman EP | | Bike Setup: | EXCELLENT, especially for a younger rider. I am 6', ride professionally and prefer the M7 due to its 1/2" longer top tube | | Bottom Line: | If you want to get into FLATLAND and your a smaller rider then there really is no other choice then the M6. I am a taller rider (6') so my frame of choice is the M7 (its slightly bigger brother). The M6 mixes a PROVEN frame geometry with a great component setup to create one of the best bikes in its price range, sure you could spend less, but you would sacrifice something, either the FULL CHROMOLY frame or the FREECOASTER - neither is a worthwhile sacrifice just to save a few bucks. HARO has it finally figured out.
If you cant tell already, i love the new design and performance at a great price point! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
