Date Reviewed: August 14, 2009
Favorite Trail:Oughterard
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $1200.00
Purchased At:Chainreaction Cycles
Strengths:Incredibly durable with great suspension, front and back. Recently went on a 9 mile difficult mountain trail and thought the bike held up great.
Weaknesses:A trifle on the heavy side
Bottom Line:I find the whole gear change system to be great, especially when cycling uphill.

Date Reviewed: August 15, 2008
Favorite Trail:Big Induna
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:Secondhand but like
Strengths:Strong reputation of I-drive system, affordable compared to other full suspension bikes. Adjustable suspension in front and lockout, Fox air shock at the back is always a treat. Crank brothers make good pedals too!
Weaknesses:Looks like dirt can get into the pivot holes, but time will tell. Heavier than the other bikes I've been riding, but this is less than half the price! Will update as I ride it.
Similar Products Used:Cannondale Prophet & Scalpel.
Bike Setup:Stock.
Bottom Line:Very good value for the money. This is a very good bike for someone getting into the full suspension scene.

Date Reviewed: August 4, 2006
Favorite Trail:Tipperary Creek, Winter Park
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Strengths:The bike is comes equipped with great componentry, has awesome components for the money
Weaknesses:the I-Drive line has a very messed up geometry. I am 6 foot, and the size small has the right stand over, but is obviously too small. The large is the right size, but is very uncomfortable, stand over-wise
Similar Products Used:Ironhorse Azure, Specialized FSR
Bike Setup:Stock, in store
Bottom Line:If you have very long legs, this is a great bike at a great price, however, if you vaguely resemble a human being, the bike will probably be uncomfortable

Submitted by XC Runner a Cross Country Rider from Wichita KS,
Date Reviewed: June 28, 2006
Favorite Trail:Camp Horizon
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1300.00
Purchased At:GT Bikes
Strengths:The i-drive system is awsome at climbing, no problems with hills packed or over loose rock, awsome awsome!! Locking grips from the factory! Fast, responsive turning. Great components for under $1,500. This bike is good for all types of riders beginner to expert racer. GT is on its way back with this line of bikes.
Weaknesses:A little on the heavy side, and I found that climbing while seated allows the i-drive system to perform better. If you stand up and pump you get a little slippage on the rear.
Similar Products Used:Specalized Hardrok
Bike Setup:Avid mech. discs, Rock shox J4 with u turn for travel and rebound control, fox floating shock, deore LX shifters
Bottom Line:For the money you can't find a new bike with all the features that this bike has. If your looking for a bike to work hard for you this bike will do it. Up hill down hill, this bike does the job. Give GT a try.
