Favorite Trail:the old letter box
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $1200.00
Purchased At:Mammoth Cycles
Strengths:Frame. I bought the 2.0. After not very long the Syncros rims split, then the Judy T2's broke at the arch and whatever the cranks (LX I think) on it were they rounded off at the BB. I still cannot jump a bike but this thing has taken over a 1000kms of abuse, drops, trials weekend downhilling and the frame is still 100%. Still have the original GT seatpost, and front mech, that is all.
Weaknesses:See above for bits that are pretty poor but not to unexpected for a bike wasn't too much dollars.
Similar Products Used:GT Pantera, Kona Muni Mula.
Bike Setup:Now with DT swiss/Onyx/Sun Single track wheels, Psylo SL's, XT drive and disks, Race Face North Shore cranks, Azonic risers very heavy like this at 14kgs or 31 pounds without tyres.
Bottom Line:Yes the frame is an awesome strong beast that prefers a 100mm fork at the front and strong parts for awesome trials/slalom/dh practice but do not ride it on an epic or you will have a sore ass becuase it is very rigid and that is that. Only 3 flamin chillis becuase most of the stock parts don't last but the frame is worth 5 chillis. Oh and I have a medium frame (16.5 inch I think) but I would ride a 17 inch for cross country purposes, the smaller frame really lets you be the boss man.

Bottom Line:its a 2004 that i got new on ebay for 550. for the price it was a steal. i will probably upgrade the deraliures, but i don't need to since i rarely shift .all those people out there trashing gt since pacific bought gt need to get on one, and see that they are still top of the line

Date Reviewed: October 25, 2004
Favorite Trail:everything
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $900.00
Purchased At:mcbrides bicycles
Strengths:Frame is super strong, rims are super strong, headset, stem, bar are all super good. Can't go wrong with a SDG seat. Shiftings smooth.
Weaknesses:MZ fork is terrible, the seals, and crown are horrendiously weak and BAD. WTB tires are not that good either. Brakes could be upgraded. Crank set is weak like tissue paper.
Similar Products Used:03 Norco Mountaineer.
Bike Setup:DJ2 fork, HighRoller tires 2.3, 30mm holzfeller stem (for dirt jumping and street), race face evolve dh bottom bracked.
Bottom Line:the frame and rims and head set is awesome. The bike urges you to go bigger and the frame and rims can take a beating.
Just upgrade the crankset, fork, tires, and your good to go and for an extra 90$ canadian you can get a sram 9.0 derailler. Pretty sweet bike 4 what u get.

I gave this bike a 4 outts 5 just cuz u gotta upgrade 2 of the most expensive thing on the bike plus the tires.
