Favorite Trail:Brecon
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $600.00
Purchased At:Halfords
Strengths:Frame, wheels, crank, bottom bearing
Weaknesses:Shocks, brakes
Similar Products Used:Various BMX's, Kona Scrap, Cannondale F5 and jumped on plenty of other bikes at skate parks.
Bike Setup:Standard, just changed forks to a set of bombers and popped on a set of avid juicy brakes now i can jump with confidence and stop on a dime.
Bottom Line:This bike does NOT suck and is NOT crap!!! This bike frame can take a beating, i've dropped 5' and jumped half pipes on mine and the frame is rock solid, the bottom bracket and crank are built like a tank. Its slightly smaller size and wider handlebars are excellent for tricks and jumping. I first saw this bike being battered downhill and fell in love (it was completely upgraded tho!). Other bike manufacturerers should learn something from this bikes frame geometry, it's the best i've ever ridden. I'm keeping this frame for life and will get another one if anything ever happens to it!!

Favorite Trail:the little lump of grass out the front of my house
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $600.00
Purchased At:bike shop
Strengths:the little reflector on the handlebars is colourful
Weaknesses:everything except for the little reflector on the handlebars. for all you dumbass's out there, this includes, frame, fork, wheels, cranks, sprocket, chain, bb, tyres, seat, seat post, seat clamp, pedals, bars, stem, grips, gears, brakes and the fkn ugly paint job that makes it look like a wannabee dj bike, but then again it pretty much is just a wannabee dj bike.
Similar Products Used:old drain pipe sitting round the side of the house and my grandad's rusty commuting bike from the 1960's
Bike Setup:stock
Bottom Line:its a crap bike. not even worth a cent. if you want to get a decent bike then dont even stop and look at one of these, first of all coz they're fkn ugly, second of all because they suck.
Especially dont get one of these bikes and then go around telling your friends that its sick because they will probably knock you out cos it's a piece of crap.

Favorite Trail:Norway Ridge
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $610.00
Purchased At:Cobblestone Cyclery
Strengths:very strong frame, rides smooth, light wieght, strong cranks, sturdy rims, handles well, responsive
Weaknesses:derailleurs aren't the greatest, the forks are strong but they like to creek when you hit the front breaks
Similar Products Used:'05 Giant STP3:the chucker seems to hold up a lot better than the stp. the stp is a very strong bike, but it seemed to have a problem with it everytime i rode it. it was never usually anything major, but the chucker doesn't have those problems at all unless you fall and bend something. then it leads to more problems. but i rarely fell on the stp and it still had those little problems such as cranks coming loose, rims bending, forks bending, cables breaking, etc.
Bike Setup:this bike is setup very well. when you first ride it there is nothing you really need to get used to. the handle bars are wide so when you ride it, the bike feels bigger than it actually is. also this is probably the best dirtbike iv'e rode because it has the kenda kinetics tires that dig into the groung and you can turn a heartbeat.
Bottom Line:i'd say that if you want to buy a resonably priced responsive downhill freeride bike that will have no problem holding up, buy the GT chucker 2.0 it will make you happy and you can save some money

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $500.00
Purchased At:Net
Strengths:7005 Aluminum Triple Triangle Frame, Truvativ Ruktion Crank set, Truvativ Howitzer XR Bottom Bracket, Jalco DDZ double wall wheel set, and Sram Shifting Components.
Weaknesses:RST Launch T8 fork, ProMax hydraulic disc
Similar Products Used:Jamis Komodo 1, Gary Fisher Mullet
Bike Setup:Stock
Bottom Line:I bought this bike so that I could do some XC riding with some friends but also take a trip down town for some urban, chill at the local skate park or ride at some Dirt Jump spots. So far this bike has NOT let me down.

It has truly gotten my feet wet into the 26" urban/DJ/Park scene. I am a BMX rider at heart and this has brought out my child side again. I have decided to even go with a straight urban/DJ bike within a few months!

This bike has performed past my expectations. After a month of beating it up I decided to see how the wheel set has held up and threw it on the true stand. There were no extreme wobbles which surprised me because I was a bit indifferent of the Jalco DDZ set but now I'm sold.

I purchased this bike over any others because of the Crank / BB set and they are bullet proof. The external bearings are just outstanding and the three piece set up seems indestructible. The crank's have not loosened on me but I made sure I applied the correct amount of torque when building it.

The shifting components are done extremely well. Sadly you do get cheaped out on the front derailleur as always and the shifters don't mach either rear or front but the combo has worked well on XC rides so no complains there. They are also extremely easy to tune.

The RST Launch T8 fork I am not to keen on and I knew I wouldn't be. However, you are not going to get a fork you like on any bike costing under 2k imo. The rebound and preload on the fork are horrible but it soaks up impacts extremely well. I know this will be the first thing I replace on the bike, however, I'll just wait until it breaks and then get what I want.

Don't get me wrong on the ProMax, they work very well. I can apply enough pressure using one finger with ease to do stalls on ramps, however, they are just god awful to bleed / tune and the rotors themselves are garbage. The rotors never stay straight and warp extremely easy with heavy braking. I don't understand why they just didn't throw on some Avid BB7's. Hydraulic is nice and all but not when it's the bottom of the pile.

Overall I really enjoy this bike, it's a great ride that works well for some XC riding but works AMAZING for park and DJ. If you want to get your feet wet into some park/urban/DJ riding but want the trail riding capability this is the way to go.

Strengths:The frame is absolutely brilliant. Iv been cycling for years, and have just got back into it after a few years off. This frame is very well balanced, and handles very similairly to a zasker le i had many moons ago.Its just a fraction of the price. There was a cheeky run of 6061alu frames kicking about last year for those of you who are interested....
Weaknesses:Everything but the frame, and the cranks(model specific, some better than others). You WILL, at somepoint, break everything else....
Bike Setup:sram x9, hope kit, marzocci's, easton, etc
Bottom Line:An absolutely brilliant entry level dirt/ play bike. Cracking value for money, just keep some cash aside for when you start breaking stuff....
Honestly?
A frame that deserves better components.

Strengths:good price, durable, great first time bike, easy to work on, easy to ride, good all round terrain bike, easy to repair, parts are cheap, frame has liftime warranty.
Weaknesses:grips came loose, bent then snapped derailer, had it replaced but gears still shonky, back wheel keeps falling off?.... can't seem to have it tight enough??.. WTF?!
shocks too hard, I have changed them to the softest setting but coudn't get the soft ride I have had with other forks.

It came with Radious discs not "chang stars" for some odd reason and they work fine. Indestructable bike overall
Weaknesses:the front axle becomes loose than super tight (supposedly from the discs)and front wheel moved from side to side occasionly. replacing front skewer fixed all these problems

Bottom Line:The Cucker 2.0 is an easy bike to toss-around without worrying about bent rims or a cracked frame. Great for downhill, dirt jump, street riding, and even a little of trials riding. It looks great in the light-blue finish, dispite what it looks like in the product catalog. Although it's a fun bike, I would have liked a little bigger of a frame, this bike only comes in medium. It also doesn't handle too well on trails or long-distance mt. biking. All-in-all, more bang than buck comes out of this bike. Totally worth the price. I sugguest that people who usually beat-up their bikes buy this one, especially if they're heavier riders.

Strengths:For the price i got it for, it's excellent. Solid Frame. Excellent wide handlebars and short stem give great stability and is fairly laid back for controlled steering. fairly solid wheels if you are a smooth rider with good tyres, and the transmission is sufficient: one cog at the front is excellent for all round riding (i used to ride with 3 cogs, and one is alot better)
Weaknesses:Very heavy, but probably because it is so overbuilt. Fork is crap at the best of times, and really should be upgraded. V-brakes need upgrading to something a bit more powerful if your doing dh courses on it. left crank comes loose

Bottom Line:It's an excellent bike, if a little heavy, but it sticks to the ground when you want it to, and is capable of big stuff. With a few ugrades (cranks, forks, brakes) it would make a sweet ride, but at the moment, i'm used to it and like it alot. i'd recommend it for smooth riders wanting an inexpensive entry into freeriding.

Strengths:Frame is incredible extremely strong and the rims are also good and the seat is the sweets (nice on the bum!!) stem is nice nice sealed Bottom Bracket but needs to be TRUVATIV HOWITZER XR TEAM! and hussefelt bars and then you have a sik as ass ride with upgraded sweet as parts/components
Weaknesses:Forks Rst's are good but not for hard jumping and trail blazing and the brakes should be given to the hayes mob they are better than promax but promax are also good!

Purchased At:Second hand
Strengths:Solid frame, excellent paint job, comfortable seat.
Weaknesses:Crankset, gear ratio's - too wide bars!
Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:Stock setup, exceot for Truvativ crank arm fitted to replace the weak Zoom effort.
Bottom Line:I bought this cos it was cheap and looked good/ If I were 20 years older it'd be great for jumping, etc. The crankset and fork are the weak links - the crank arm just crumbled. The gearing is such that the difference between gears is immense, making x-country a nightmare (and uphill even worse) - but I suppose it isn't for that stuff really. It'll be passed on to my 10 year old when he is big enough.

Also the handlebars - they are bloody wide and when on forest trails you wonder whether you'll make any gaps!

Strengths:strong, very strong! love the sram conponants(even though they are the cheap ones)
Weaknesses:the shock is trash. i upgraded with a manitou stance blunt and love it!! plastic rollers are noisy. upgrade to rubber ball bearing type and enjoy. must have disc, so upgrade that too.
Similar Products Used:nothing like this. i had a normal giant and a gt i-drive (hated the I-drive).
Bike Setup:manitou stance blunt shock, sum ryno light rims, bottom of the line shimano disc brakes (love them more than the magura julies on my last bike)
Bottom Line:If you grew up with BMX like i did, this is the bike for you. the smaller frame and strong feel give you great confidence and control. this bike is really cheap so take your time and upgrade as you go. you must upgrade the fork and get disc brakes with Sun ryno light rims. they are a great deal and very strong. The sram conponants are the bottom of the line, but they are more precise than the shimano LX,XT's from my last bike. Weird huh?! bottom line---LOVE IT!!!
