Very strong frame and its light! I weight 200 lbs and have been racing on this bike for over a year and didn't manage to break it!

Well, the bike is very stiff, so I had to put a Moxey suspension seatpost on it...other than that none!
Bike Setup:
Marzocchi Z2 Bam fork, XTR, Race Face components, Easton Carbon Fiber handlebar, Koobi seatpost, Cross Max Wheels
Bottom Line:
This bike rocks! It's very fast and climbs like a mountain goat! Once you set it up right, you'll love it! The only thing left to complain will be your endurance! I would recomend this bike for XC racers and all for all around hardcore riders who expect reliability! This bike is tough! Buy it and have fun!

Bike Setup:
XTR all the way through, cross max wheels, syncros kit.
Bottom Line:
This bike rocks!!! its faster than a rat up a drainpipe, and makes you immediately race all your mates at every oportunity. twitchy handling when on tight single track makes this bike a blast, and a hill munching monster of a machine. this bike is for anyone who is serious about going Very Very FAST!!! if you can break one, your doing better than me, or is that you should learn the basics of riding(ie not hitting trees at 40 mph)

Weaknesses:
? Not really found something besides the price... (German resale: $ 4000 !!!)
Team-Frame & paint, Full XTR, Easton Monkeylite Lowriser-Bar, Syncros post, Flite-Saddle, Easton Stem, RS SID XC, Conti Explorer-Tires, Gore Fibre-Tec, Chris King Headset, Mavic 517 Ceramic-wheelset with XTR Hubs
Bottom Line:
It's my dream Hardtail. No better thing for singletrail-surfing: precise handling, lightweight, stiff. Reliable on fast tracks (top speed so far: 58mph) and sweet on technical trails. Soon to be upgraded with a Crossmax UST wheelset. The guys mostly see it from behind on the track... Besides all that it's the most beautiful hardtail on this planet ! Love it or leave it ! I would never buy any other hardtail than a Zaskar.
P.S.: Hard to believe how someone can break this frame. Even Hans Rey did not break one in some years of trialin' !

Alright, for the two people that mannaged to break this frame I have news for you. LOOSE SOME WEIGHT! Honestly, this bike rocks, I actually have the 98' version with a slightly better componet mix, and it blows everything ese out of the water. I have been riding it for a year, and havn't been able to even ding the frame. If anyone can crack this frame's welds I suggust that they buy one of those CoOl FrEerIdE BiKZ. In all honesty, you'll be hard perssed to find a stronger, faster, lighter, or better handeling bike. Ride one and see for yourself!BTW there in no way in hell that a Canondale could have better duribility than this bike. You're talking to a guy who has broken three of them...Later, Rob

Okay. Friend of mine just got this bike at the same time as I got my LE (non team) Something looked funny so I took a closer look. The 99 team bikes are using 98 LE frames repainted with some decals. And the picture on the website is wrong. the head tube area is white not blue. Still one hell of a bike, but some minor points that need adressing.

Bottom Line:
Excellent frame (purchased as frame and built with XTR, Titec, White Industries parts). Neutral steering - no bad handling characteristics. Climbs very well. Build quality seems to be of a high order (especially welds and paint) - comparable to frames from custom frame builders. Handling characteristics at least the equal of 1998 Shwinn Factory Homegrown XTR (with similar equipment) ridden by my son (a racer). If you don't need snob appeal of frame from one of the latter companies, recommend consideration of this frame. Regarding comment of Mr Cipolini - he must be novice with regard to his ability to judge the attributes of a front suspension mountain bike. An $800 Cannondale (with LX or STX parts) is dog relative to most high end aluminum frames with top end parts.
