Date Reviewed: October 28, 2005
Favorite Trail:Farmington Loop
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $600.00
Purchased At:Alive Outside
Strengths:Chromoly frame, a little heavy but strong and doesn't rust,
the Velocirapter tires have more than enough traction
Weaknesses:The elastomer shocks don't have a lot of tavel and can't be replaced very easy, but does provide less give when your peddling
Similar Products Used:Gary Fisher's, Treks, Specialized... Test rides
Bottom Line:Its been a great bike, I've had mine since 1997 and put almost 5,000 miles on it, I've upgraded the gears and brakes, the bike has never broke down on me, and it's still the bike, I ride everywhere even after all the criticism I get from my friends to buy a new one.

Date Reviewed: August 16, 2004
Favorite Trail:the road.. j/k... anything with dirt, no sand
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $100.00
Purchased At:Someone's garage
Strengths:it rolls, hasn't broken (yet), comfortable XC ride
Weaknesses:elastomer rear shock, cheaper to buy new bike than retrofit new shock. cheap wheelset. HEAVY... I had a magna in college that is just a pound shy of this beast.
Similar Products Used:Raleigh M 80, Trek Fuel FS
Bottom Line:great bike overall... spent more upgrading and updating this bike than i paid for it... but that seems to be the case with most bikes. rear Elastomer shock is hard if not impossible to find making upgrading this bike a pain. Great commuter bike, great city bike, good on single track, but has a bit of a problem cornering. Getting the shocks to work harmoniously is a pain. Bike creaks at its pivot points during heavy pedal. overall... Great bike once you get it running the way you want it keep it.
