$100.00 | | Purchased At: | My Dad | | Strengths: | Good feel and a firm frame, elastamer holds up very well | | Weaknesses: | Rock Shox Fork is stiff, out of 2" of total travel only about 1" of it is used, never bottoms out, the rubber elastamer doesn't go down very much either, and because it is rubber it has a tendency to bounce back up at you. The rear d-railer sucks, I hope this was never "top of line" on Shimano, almost every time I go out and climb a hill, when there is the slightest bob the famous "LTS Chainsuck" occurs when this happens the chain gets stuck betweent the swingarm and the drivetrain, you have to get up off your bike if your not haulin' a$$ on those climbs and push the suspension down to get the chain out otherwise your okay. | | Similar Products Used: | 2001 Cannondale 2000 w/Lefty, 2001 Cannondale 900 SL w/Headshok,2002 Cannondale Jekyll 800 w/Lefty,2002 Gary Fisher 3+ w/discs, 2000 GT XCR 1500, 2001 GT i-Drive 3.0, 2001 Santa Cruz Superlight Powder, 2001 Specailized Enduro FSR Expert, <- Pro, and XC, so far my favorite is the Jekyll 2000 | | Bike Setup: | Stock, as many sucky components that you can possibly put on an FS bike | | Bottom Line: | This bike is great for beating the crap out of, trials, but XC it also does fairly well, except for on the climbs.
For being one of the top of line bikes, in 1997 when it first came out, I'm giving five stars in value, with the all the stuff today, don't you wish you could have a decent bike nearly top of line for $1000, I know I would
For being a great descender with perfect response, but a crappy climper, I will say that overall this bike the GT LTS-3 desrerves 3 hot Chilis | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
