Favorite Trail:
Various
Duration Product Used:
6 months
Strengths:
Price, good suspension design, chromoly frame provide some flex to absord bumps on the trail
Weaknesses:
On the heavy side, 1 head tube size is rare, making it hard to upgrade front shock, 29.2 size seat post size is also rare making it hard to upgrade.
Similar Products Used:
GT XCR, Specialized FSR, Specialized Stumpjumper FS, Cannodale, Trek full and hard tail bikes
Bike Setup:
XT Drivetrain, Mavic 521 laced to XT hubs, Avid ArchRival 50,
Bottom Line:The bike came with stc, lx level componenents which was sufficient to race with however, the rims were ZAC 19 which lasted for only one 12 hour race I did in Big Bear. The frame handles suprisingly well on various types of terrain and even better with the upgrades I did. I bought the bike on sale for $599. For the price, the bike is well worth it. It is a good bike for amature or lower level racers. I deduct one star for the weight and rare seat tube and head tube sizes which make upgrading impossible. Oh, the suspension makes a little noise but at this point not much.
Overall Rating:4
