I mean when i first got it the bike was nice but after a week the headset was loose but i tightened. the tires wore out. the fork wasn't the right size so i couldn't put any bigger pegs on bent the axle the day i got it. i mean PEOPLE i am not a very hardcore rider but this is just pathetic. i am reall dissapointed in GT after this bike. | | Similar Products Used: | HMMMM MAYBE A HUFFY!!!!!!!!!! or an AMES SPECIAL! | | Bottom Line: | The bottom line is that no one in their right mind would want to buy this bike unless they were gonna strip it down and rebuild from the frame up! from Fairbanks. AK Date Reviewed: April 4, 2000 | | Favorite Trail: | Fairbanks, AK | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Strengths: | decent bike for the money....good geometry | | Weaknesses: | broke all the time....(my fault) crap pegs and headset...1 pc crank low pressure tires included | | Similar Products Used: | tour 2, gt show, dyno slammer...just about all of em | | Bike Setup: | stock | | Bottom Line: | this bike would be alrigh for someone who is just starting out and isn't too hard on the equipment. when i first started out, this bike was wonderful...but as i got better, the bike seemed worse. the seat and handlebars are the only things on this bike that didn't break. i bent the cranks after landing a 15 stair drop and busted the bearing cage in there as well. the headset has been cracking forever...constantly replacing cups and races...the wheels are just crap...if you do any grinding, the axles WILL bend...this caused a nice little crash on a rail that got me some stirches on my face. the rear axle bent to about a 70 degree angle. i trashed the hub bearings too. and finally, a small crack iss developing in the headtube....i believe this bike is dead....time to buy a tour....3 flamin turds for the fun times it gave me for $350 | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
