$450.00 | | Purchased At: | Cothron's | | Strengths: | Immense durability. This bike can take alot of abuse. The top tube length makes it comfortable for both medium and large riders,(6ft +). The bike was spec'd out nicely with Alex jumping rims and a decent drive train,(for the price). The ride was very forgiving making it a great bike for riders just getting into the burly/street scene. | | Weaknesses: | The crankset could have been a bit stronger. (the left crank-arm torqued at 4.5 ft to flat), no biggie though. Did GT completely overlook the platforms? the ride was much better after the additionof Brooklin "Tenderizer" platforms. Lastly, I found that the weight and longer rear stay made it feel just a little awkward in the air, particularly on ledges and drop-aways. Oh and multi-surface tires would do much better than the knobbies. | | Similar Products Used: | Free-agent "Super-Fortress", Standard Bykes "STA", FBM "Angel of Death", Schwinn "Joey Garcia Automatic". | | Bike Setup: | Straight stock. GT Fueler frame (black), GT three piece cranks, Alex double-wall jumping rims. | | Bottom Line: | A great starter bike for "fresh-meat" hucksters. The frame can take the sh*t you're gonna be able to throw at it and the components will hold up until you can afford better. *(note: 2001 GT Fueler is sold frame only. 2k1 "Thumper" is basicly the old Fueler with a better spec. Check it out.) The bike will all but beg to be abused. The fact that A two-hundred an' eight pound, six foot-two rider still owns a complete and very rideable one ought to say somethin'. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

| | Bike Setup: | GT forged 3-piece cranks slick willy semi slick tires | | Bottom Line: | If you want a stong and reliable bike this is it. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Canada Date Reviewed: December 16, 2000 | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Strengths: | Really strong frame, dropouts are super thick. | | Weaknesses: | The wheelset and crank. The wheels break pretty easy and it needs a 3-peice crankset | | Bike Setup: | Bought it stock, and then customized it. | | Bottom Line: | This is a really good bike. It is super strong but it has its weaknesses. I am retiring my fueler now after 2 years of use. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
