$4000.00 | | Purchased At: | broadribs | | Strengths: | super adjustability, soaks up anything you put in front of it, high end spec, bolt through rear axle | | Weaknesses: | limited seatpost length. Inability to change the chain device | | Similar Products Used: | stinky primo, stab supreme | | Bike Setup: | 2005 spec but have changed bars and stem to a simpler set up | | Bottom Line: | After destroying 2 so called high end bikes already this year this is like a breath of fresh air. Extremely stable at high and low speeds, awesome in the air and ultra reliable. The storys of weak rear triangles sounds far feched as I have been doing 15ft+ drops and 40ft doubles on my DHI and is still as strong as it was when purchased | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$3000.00 | | Purchased At: | Mason-Bike Inn | | Strengths: | this bike will be top of its class for the next 50 years, u can bring in as many pivot point/ X-tra swing-arms and still this baby will even give a fun class rider a Gold Medal | | Weaknesses: | It wants u to take it to the limit, and u will fing your self in hospital u dont respect it. | | Similar Products Used: | I have been racing for 12 years and this bike out class all my other scrap metals | | Bike Setup: | Silent, Solid and works. I added some older components on my, and all of them fitted and woks perfect. When you put your back wheel in and u turn that allen-keys until it hits the spot, that rim will be dead senter and fixed. | | Bottom Line: | Dont go waist your money on 8" 20 pivot point bikes when u can have a single pivot Dream that wont go sqawking on u when u hit the first dirt drop-off | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$2000.00 | | Purchased At: | ebay, mtbr, pricepoint, supergo | | Strengths: | SICK PEDALING BIKE! This frame was raced and tested extensively by Steve Peat. He is quoted as saying he flat out loved the DHi (or experimental as it was called before DHi) and was sad to part ways with GT because it was such a sick race frame. Boxxer Team in stock form is very balanced with the I-Drive/Vanilla rear end. I-drive keeps frame weight low and centered so it corners like no other. Has a really tall head tube so the front end is tall and stiff! Very adjustable wheelbase, headangle, & bb height. No brake jack from rear brake, very neutral brake feel. Pretty light for a full DH bike. | | Weaknesses: | limited on seat post length, height | | Similar Products Used: | Santa Cruz super 8, SC Bullit with 5th Element, 1999 Schwinn Straight 8, 2001 Schwinn Straight 8, Foes DHS Tube | | Bike Setup: | 03 Boxxer team, Chris King, Hayes 8 inch F & R, XTR/MRP cranks, Sram 9.0 shift & derail, 321/Hadley rear wheel, 521/Hugi f wheel, Azonic bars/stem, Thompson post, WTB saddle | | Bottom Line: | Bottom line is this bike is the sickest race bike ever! Pedals like nothing else. No bob, no brake jack, lower center of gravity, overall a great ride. Has very good suspension for a varity of rider weights. You can changed the head angle, bb height, and wheelbase. This is a sick race bike. I am not a hucker so I am not sure what the other reviews were speaking of with the rear end. I was concerned so I call GT Tech and they told me it was very isolated breakage on the American made team frames. They said if breakage occurs, the rear tri is available under warranty | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$3040.00 | | Purchased At: | Acess Sports & Cycles | | Strengths: | Fast as hell. Stiff rear end. Light(for a DH rig). Endless travel. | | Weaknesses: | Boxxers(mine were stuffed when i got the bike, but i got them replaced, so no big) | | Similar Products Used: | Norco DH team, M1, V10, Bighit DH, 222 | | Bike Setup: | Stock | | Bottom Line: | This bike has to be the best rig i have riden, it just makes you feel so conferdent were on other bikes you are S*#ting yourself. It is amazingly stable at speed, and surprisingly nimble in the technical bits, handles well in the air as well. The only complant i have so far is that the Boxxers that came on it were totally stuffed, in that half the rebound assembly was missing, but I sent it back to the shop and the got them replaced pretty quick. So far i have not cracked the frame, and to the people who think that it will break instantly, i have done a few 10 foot drops to flat landings and it has held up fine and i weigh 93kgs. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Its light, plush, pedal very well and corners like no other. | | Weaknesses: | I've seen a few break at the rear triangle and heard that they all break sonner or later | | Similar Products Used: | stab primo, BB7, big hit. | | Bottom Line: | this bike is a great performer but whats the point of getting a frame that breaks so easily? I had a great deal on one but didnt want to invest in something that can break anytime. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$4300.00 | | Purchased At: | SIC Cycles St Ives. | | Strengths: | Pedals great, handles really sweet, heaps of travel,XTR, boxxer fork is plush.Only a few tweeks to get it fully dialled. | | Weaknesses: | Spokes are crap, bar and stem combo, Should have specced XT hydraulics instead of hayes. | | Similar Products Used: | Nothing as good as this. | | Bike Setup: | Azonic bars,DMR conrod stem,ODI grips,Maxxis Minion DH tyres,Time pedals, | | Bottom Line: | After GT went under I was very sceptical about getting one of these, fortunately it all came together nicely. Bit of a shame about the paint finish though. Pedals damn well for a dh bike.In the immortal words of Ferris Bueller "If you have the means I highly reccomend picking one up, riding it is so choice." | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Three rear triangles later I am about to give up on this bike. Why can't GT make them stronger!!!!! THey all break in the same place. | | Similar Products Used: | Stab | | Bike Setup: | Boxxer etc. Nice. | | Bottom Line: | Don't buy it if you don't want to ride scared that your bike will break all the time. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$4000.00 | | Purchased At: | Spokes N Slopes.... best store ever | | Strengths: | Super Plush, takes 10+ foot drops with the greatest of ease (thats the biggest i've done on this bike), Pedals like a mofo...this thing is the best pedaling DH bike i've ridden....everything bout this bike is amazing | | Weaknesses: | Came with Monster T.....very very bad on this bike...don't get me wrong it's an awsome fork but....yea you get my point...Should come with 5th Elements (the new ones at least) that would make this thing flawless | | Similar Products Used: | Tried an M1 (for like 10 mins), VPS's...alot of em | | Bike Setup: | Stock cept for the Boxxer | | Bottom Line: | This bike is awsome i reccommend it alot...u'll go faster, jump higher/further, brake later, and win more if you ride it....(some of that may vary...lol) but all i know is i started placing higher and having an overall better time while riding this bike it makes the experience that much better because DH is the $hit. Like i said if you threw on a 5th element then oooo man watch out then you'd have NO pedal bob and it would b a flawless pedaller...and it's already reallllllly good....BUY IT ...peace | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$2800.00 | | Purchased At: | International Bicycle Center (was mechanic there @ time retaild for 3800.00) | | Strengths: | Tough Bike, Great climber(yes, sometimes you dont have the lift right there), Did I hit the ground yet??? I didnt feel anything?!?! Holy plush-landings BATMAN!!!! All Hail the King... And God save the I-Drive....... | | Weaknesses: | The BEAST of all forks Marz. Monster-T. wanna drop 4 lbs...Just swap it out with a R.S. Boxxer. The new 2003 comes with the Team Boxxer so you won't have to. | | Similar Products Used: | I have gone through a Kona Stab Primo it was too heavy and much harder to control. Plush landing true, but it took all my power to lift the nose for the drops. I was the owner of a Santa Cruz before that and the same was true. With the nimble I-Drive Eccentric at your service this is the bike that will respond for you wether you are; pedaling, climbing, dropping, or speeding down the slopes | | Bike Setup: | Full XTR, Gt Disc Hubs laced to a sweet set of H.E.D. Rims. Mrp, Hayes Hyd. Disc 8", R.S. Boxxer (the 2002 comes with the Marz. Monster T), C.King Headset(I spoil myself). | | Bottom Line: | This is a great bike for those who weigh under 200lbs. I have heard of heavier guys whining about it but hey....LOOSE WEIGHT......or go get the KONA PRIMO.
