I used mine for over 3 years through a lot of long, sweaty miles. Fit my head perfectly any never slid to an awkward or uncomfortable position. Rocklok worked great for me. Forgot the helmet was even there.
Can't use it any longer because I took it head-first into an oncoming SUV. The front of the helmet flattened and cracked just as it was designed to do... and I am still here to write this review.

It fits really well and looks great. The true test is in performance. I had a nasty wreck last week where I went off a 6 foot drop fast and endoed with my head hitting a rock first taking all the force. I was ok except for a small concusion, some abrasions on my face and back, but the helmut cracked in two. The helmut did its job wonderfully and I hope I can still buy another one if they still make them. Please do wear a helmet of some type. A few years ago I did not wear a helmet. Then I was hit by another rider who was not paying attention. I was only going about 20 mph but ended up going over the handlebars and landing on my head. The end result was a concussion, stitches and a trip to the emergency room. (My worst accidents have happened on the Santa Monica bike path with pedestrians doing stupid things).
Like any helmet you have to fiddle with the straps, including the adjustable yokes under the ears, to get a good fit. Also, I added foam inside at places to make the fit snug - you have to do that with any helmet. It's fiddly but you only have to do it once.
I recently went over the top again (Santa Monica bike bath) and my head hit the cement, before I smashed 2 fingers - no head damage, and no damage to helmet.
The best part of this helmet (apart that it has saved my life) is the ventilation - it gets hot in California - I only have to lower my head while I'm on the drops and I can feel the air across my head. It's a cool helmet. In winter I have a cap I wear underneath to keep the cold air out.

It seems to be designed for poeple with an aerodynamic head shape. It is especially a problem if you are non-Causasion. I have to sqeeze my head in while having quite some space at the back of my head. I can attest to this helmet's crashworthiness. One header into a steel lamp post at 20+, no serious injury to me, small scratches on helmet. I love my Helios. Great vents. As to the guy who hurt his neck below, Duh, this is a helmet not a neck protector. My only complaint would be in adjustment but this is typical of all the good helmets I've seen. I have a relatively large head and this is the only helmet that has an excellent fit. I've tried other brands (Bell and Specialized) before purchasing the Helios. The Roc Lok retention system is truly revolutionary. I tried shaking my head with the helmet on and the buckles unlocked and it still would not go off. An excellent helmet for both road & trail use - light, strong & incredibly well ventilated. I did a stupid over the bars earlier today - landing on my head. Thanks to this hat, the only things that were badly bruised were my ego and the helmet itself (it cracked -, as it should have). OK, I have worn this helmet for a lot of road miles and on my mountain bike. It is ventilated very well and is very light BUT....I broke my neck a month ago when I went over the bars on my mountain bike and landed directly on my head. The helmet didn't break but my neck did! There was ZERO shock absorption and I am not sure the vents didn't contribute as they seemed to dig into the dirt rather than slide. Not saying the helmet was at fault in any way but it would seem that eventually the helmet should be designed for what it was intended to do, protect your head! Eventually there needs to be some shock absorption designed into mountain bike helmets. I am recovering and will back on my bikes in about 5 months. I was VERY lucky. Even better, since it was sold as a road helmet, it didn't cone with one of those stupid visor things (can anyone tell me they actualy do something besides look cool?) This helmet offers the most ventilation I've ever seen.
Even on the hottest Texas days!
Only down side is when it's cold outside your head is cold too.
Roc-Loc works great. This helmet is very comfortable; fits like a glove.

The Helios, or something very similar, will almost certainly be Giro's
top of the line mountain bike helmet next year. Compared to a Supermoto,
the Helios breathes much better (even at slow speeds), and is structurally
more advanced, considering its (no doubt Bell-influenced) Fusion construction
whereby the outer shell is fused to the foam core, increasing structural
integrity--the Supermoto is still built with the outer shell taped to the
foam, yielding a weaker helmet at any given weight. The Roc Locs are the
same on both, so the Helios is just as solid on the head as a Supermoto--
perhaps a bit more since the Helios is much lighter. One can only speculate
why Giros chose to target its most advanced MTB product to roadies.
The Helios is the only helmet I've ever used here in Puerto Rico (read: 90
percent humidity, 95 degree heat)which doesn't cause sweat to stream into
my eyes after a few minutes of riding. In this sense it is vastly superior
to a Bell Psycho Pro or a Supermoto. | | Overall Rating: |

Fastest looking helmet by far it looks like a Ferrari as one of my riding buddy commanded. Massive amount of venting hole definitely kept my head cooler than my previous Bell Image Pro. Roc-Loc retention device will worked fairly well. Only complain, why did Giro market this helmet as road specific.
