Favorite Trail:Glentress, Chopwell Woods
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:Private swap
Strengths:Light frame
great Geometry
Good SS tensioner
Welgo pedals
Weaknesses:Stock wheels
Marzocchi DJ3's
Similar Products Used:Norco Sasquach
STP1 rigid
Bike Setup:STP frame
Marzocchi DJ3
Shimano deore LX Brakes
DMR stem
DMR DV rear wheel
Titec Hellbent bars
Rear Maxxis Hookworm/Specialized Roll-x
Front stock tyre.
Bottom Line:This bike is stunning. Rides like a dream and feels as light as a feather. In the air it feels more comfortable than any other bike I have ridden. It seems to soar with ease.

The stock wheel set is awful and the Marzocchi DJ3's will soon be swapped with some RS Pike or Fox Van 32's if I have my way but for now they will suffice.

Date Reviewed: June 28, 2009
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $725.00
Purchased At:Cycle path
Strengths:It's a solid bike to ride, very good for streets and dirt, rims are very sturdy and suspension works very well. Light weight and is easy to get good air on even the smallest ramps.
Weaknesses:I find that the gears on the rear tire aren't very strong and don't really support tons of force like when pullin wheelies or if u start uphill on the wrong gear. Also, when your going through mud, the mud clogs up between the frame arms holdin the back wheel area and makes it impossible to continue biking without clearing it out.
Similar Products Used:DaVinci hardtail (forget model name)
Bike Setup:Stock but with upgraded crank and front gears.
Bottom Line:good sturdy bike, could use better rear gears but is very good for the money. Probably best for street riders and

Favorite Trail:Any
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $500.00
Purchased At:Craigs list
Strengths:Pretty much everything, esp. the wheels, and cranks.
Weaknesses:The frame flexes a little too much for my taste under hard pedalling. it makes a distinct clicking noise, i chopped the seat post some more and that seamed to fix the problem. i guess the bottom of the seat post was rubbing the inside of the frame cause a clicking noise. i have checked there is no cracks or dents in the frame. oh and the bottom bracket keeps coming loose.
Similar Products Used:Azonic Steelhead
Bike Setup:All stock
Bottom Line:Good for the money, maybe need a little tweeks here and there to make it feel perfect. If you are gonna use it for street riding and some local jumps it is perfect, maybe beef up the brakes and bottom bracket if you are using it for serious freeriding.

Favorite Trail:-
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $555.00
Purchased At:Local Shop
Strengths:I bought the 2008 Giant STP SS it is my first decent dirt jump bike, this is a great bike, very smooth gears, chain, hubs, everything perfect. I don't see anything wrong with DJ3 forks, good, smooth and matches the bike perfectly.
I think that the best thing with this bike is the weight. It is superbly light, and easy to ride.
Weaknesses:So far i can't find or see any downsides.
Similar Products Used:Non.
Bike Setup:Mostly stock apart from DMR V8 pedals, DMR Void[SLM] seat and DMR Zip Grips.
Bottom Line:I would really advise this bike, especially as the price has dropped with the 2009 version coming out.
