Date Reviewed: October 17, 2001
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $380.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Stout frame, good brakes, very solid overall
Bike Setup:1999 Rincon SE, Marzocchi Z-4 Flylight Air, Thudbuster seatpost, selle italia flight saddle, Tektro brakes, Geax Hook and Warp tires, Shimano Alivio components
Bottom Line:I have thrashed this bike for 2 1/2 years on WV rocks, roots, mud and snow and it still performs like new. I've made some upgrades, but haven't had to replace anything because of breakage or wear. It's a solid bike and a great value for the money. I like it!

Date Reviewed: April 6, 2001
Favorite Trail:Mr. Marbles
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $250.00
Purchased At:Privately (Used 1 year)
Strengths:Extremely Strong Frame. Have started freeriding with this bike and despite having to replace every part on it the frame consistantly stands up to 4' drops on cement. Great first bike especially when on a college student budget.
Weaknesses:Weak origional parts but what you would expect in that price range. 1" Steerer tube is poor, forks to fit it are hard to find.
Similar Products Used:Too many hardtails to list.
Bike Setup:Rock Shox Jett XC, XT Brakes, LX shifters/deraillers,Sun Rims, Specialized Cactus Control 2.35 TIRES
Bottom Line:Bike has served me very well for the past 3- years and has stood up to extreme abuse, great for first time bike owners on a tight budget. Replaced it with a 2000 SCHWINN 4 BANGER.

Strengths:Strong Frame yet it is overall light. Easy on and off.

Bike Setup:Defalt w/ pana tyres and new pedals also new shifters ( halfpipes) and New seat and rear rim. New cables and chain also a new set of derailers.
Bottom Line:Overall Great begginer bike I loved it until It wore out after 3 yrs of riding I finally grew ou of the bike. Excellent for limited budget or just your average shwmo who knows nothing about bikes nor cares.
Bottomline is that if you need a cheap bike and want a less then comforatble ride this is your choice. Hey spend the money now and in three years you will replace it . Hey Gaint overall you got awesome bike but what happened on this one.
