$1200.00 | | Purchased At: | The Cycle Path | | Strengths: | It stock brake and lever are sweet. It stock rims have been ok they have been through one bad beating the past 2 years. The frame is very strong and would make for a sweet soup up ride. | | Weaknesses: | The rear shock at first was crap untill i blew out the rear shock and now it's butter smooth.(BOTTOMS OUT VERY VERY EASY).If the chain ever falls off on the bottom ring it can get suck in the pivot and chain and makes for a pain in the a$$ to get out | | Similar Products Used: | VPS TEAM DH, and any other bike that moves | | Bike Setup: | STOCK | | Bottom Line: | It is a good bike to fix up and put some better parts it has a very nice frame. It has being through a bit of beating. Holds up very nicely. It a great ride sometimes.like a women if she is happy :) | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Lancashire Date Reviewed: June 2, 2000 | | Favorite Trail: | Yorkshire Dales/Howgills and would be the Lakes if it wasn't clogged with ramblers. | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Strengths: | Good frame angles. Doesn't appear to be too much pedal induced bobbing. RST-56 shock on the back seems to be Ok and gets reasonable reviews elsewhere. | | Weaknesses: | Rear Triangle not very compliant - seems to take a bit to get it to move (possibly explains the reduced bobbing) The stock Nitro saddle was bloody torture. Pedals poor - but usually are on off-the-peg bikes. Michelin Wildgripper tyres - I've had these on two bikes I've had. Very squirmy when steering and fill up with mud at the mere mention. | | Similar Products Used: | Carbon framed hard tail. | | Bike Setup: | Marzocchi Jr T (from RST 461DH) Hope 2 pots F+R (from LX V-brakes) Specialised saddle (from Selle Nitrox) PlanetX clingon pedals. Mavic X517/F519 shod with Panaracer Smoke/Darts (aaaaahhhhh)on Hope Hubs (from Mavic X221 on STX-RC/Formula/Wildgrippers) | | Bottom Line: | As I won this bike in a competition - it was not one I would choose (as you may be able to tell from all the upgrades). It seemed a bit pricey for what you got, however the frame itself seems good and makes the bike quite agile when going downhill. The front RST461DH shocks benefit from a good greasing when you first get the bike. I'll give it a middling three on both counts. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Hong Kong Date Reviewed: January 25, 2000 | | Favorite Trail: | it is not right to pick favorites | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Strengths: | pretty, stiff compared to other Xc fs frames, in between Xc and DH geometry feeling, suspension is ok-ish, nice curvy tubes. customised titanium and stainless steel (steel is good you alu wimps) shock holding bits (don't know technical name
| | Weaknesses: | Heavy, XT and LX & xc forks made a 32lb bike 5inch forks made a 35lb bike. Bolt in shock riped out thread in frame! Shock is a ROCK SHOX! don't like the feeling
| | Similar Products Used: | Yeti lawill 6 (dream bike pitty it wasn't mine) Trek VRX Giant ATX 1 GT LTS do my hardtails count?
| | Bike Setup: | bought Frame only so my own stuff.... good stuff or bad stuff doesn't affect the frames poor proformance | | Bottom Line: | GOOD POSERS BIKE! The rear is stiff but a softer spring makes it too soft and bottoms out on every peadal this beast looks good but climbs like a dog! heavy, the bolt that holds the Shock to the swing arm snaps and rips thread ( I made a Titanium bolt for it with stainless steel shock holdy thingy bits on the lathe). Too expencive for the wieght and the travel combo

C:)Pivot points are a joke. As mechanical engineerer I know how to construct this. when I did the first maintenance on this piece if shite I discovered that one rear link was not actually pivoting around the bushing but the bolt wich holds it altogetha was pivoting on the TRHEATH!!! D:)no comfort at all. E:)bad servicing after pivot problem. F:)not stiff. Bike twists under pedal stroke. G:)Rst 380DH also sucks. H:)Did 5 derailieurs in 1 year because of a design problem on the chain stay. ME VERY BAD. so everything sucks | | Similar Products Used: | Cannondale hardtails GT XCR 2000 (sweet) | | Bike Setup: | non stock products are: the whole drivetrain (Was crap from the day of purchase) tires he he. pedals are now spd 636. | | Bottom Line: | This bike rocks not. I still like it so much. I even made a personal homepage for it. | | Bottom Line: | It was a spring when I was firstly asking about ATX1100 bike here. It turned out that it's not much people who know anything about it. But I received some letters from all over the world: Japan, Australia... So I've decided to launch the official ATX1100.COM.UNITY site at the www.atx1100.com.ua If you have the ATX 1100 bike (or 1200 or any bike with the similar amazing frame) you are most welcome to JOIN us. To have new friends, to share stories, news, experience etc. So, see you there. As I read somewhere: it's about getting together a group of people that: - Live to ride - Have stories to tell - Have opinions to share
