Bottom Line:
Great tire; not too expensive, rolls smooth, pretty tough, handles really well. If you're communting or touring on tarmac then this tire is a good option - it works for me.

Strengths:
£20 for a PAIR, including tubes - BARGIN!!! I have put 6000 all weather miles on these and they are still going strong. They are also puncture resistant I have only had 2 punctures with them.
Weaknesses:
The rolling resistance is medium at best - compared to other road tyres. 450grams is a heck of a lot lighter than most MTB tyres but is you spend more then you can get even less – if you know what I mean.
Bottom Line:
If you use you mtb on the road all the time then this is an excellent choice.
It is not designed for off road so don't take it there! If you are racing then there are lighter tyres but you know that.
Fantastic for general on road use!

Strengths:
£20 for a pair including inner tubes - bargain. So fast, what a difference compared to knobblies when riding on the road. Tread feels pretty solid, not expecting any punctures.
Weaknesses:
You will have poor balance at low speeds, but what do you expect on 1.2" tyres?

Bottom Line:
Great tyre for commuting, you can coast by other pedalling riders down hill without even pedalling. Have ridden over the unavoidable ever present broken glass on paths and road and no punctures. Have ridden over 3000 km this year and still plenty of rubber yet. One draw back is cornering at speed, never felt right with this tyre. Have previously used a slick made by Trek (couldn't find any longer)felt much surer on turns. If there is light sprinkling of debris on track i.e. gum leaf, thin layer of dirt, etc, front wheel will slide on cornering, so if your used to leaning into fast turns you may have to switch to conservative mode in these instances, or you will be picking asphalt out of your palms. I have noticed others reviewing this product talking about a 1.6 tyre, I have the 1.25, so this could make a difference. I would have to concur with the others, go the 1.6. Over all very good tyre for commuting. Cheers

Strengths:
It may be the perfect commuter slick. Almost never flats, even with nothing but regular tubes, despite how frequently i'm picking out goatheads and glass from them. Fast enough.
Weaknesses:
None. Not the easiest tire in the world to seat, but they're not bad. Plus, no flats = no need to change.

Bottom Line:
I've had the same pair of these tires for over four years now,commuting everyday (round trip 8 miles), and they are now on my wife's rigid commuter (her commute is virtually the same as mine). The Geax are unbelievably durable. They've performed so well, it would just feel like a waste of time / money to replace them with something else, if they ever do decide to wear out. The goatheads in NM are horrible this season, and the Schwalbe Big Apples I'm now running are flatting out much more frequently than the Geax. If Geax ever enters the world of 29'er fatty slicks, I'll be the first in line to try them.

Strengths:
Low resistance, excellent rolling efficiency, great on uptake, durability, long tread life, comfortable, runs at 80psi (1.6), solid grip in dry or wet conditions, cheap.
Weaknesses:
None...unless you think a slick should be able to perform off road.

Marin hardtail with sun ringle lite wheelset
Bottom Line:
Awesome tires, with over 5,000 miles on them and plenty of remaining rubber, zero flats, worth triple the money. Very fast, excellent cornering, even with 1.6's can roll with a lot of roadies, Will consider replacing with 1.25's, front and rear, saves a 1/4 pound off each wheel, or maybe just a 1.25 up front.

Bottom Line:
I use my Scott as a commuter bike and finally shelled out for slicks - a good move. The cheap and cheerful Innova tyres I got were OK-ish but would lock up under braking regularly and that's the main reason I ditched them (plus they were only 45 psi).
I am very happy with the Street Runners. I run them at 75psi and love the smooth rolling and great grip. A very sure footed tyre.

Strengths:
1.25" tire holds 100 psi and rolls FAST. Soaks up road irregularities. Inexpensive considering their great performance.
Weaknesses:
One nail-type puncture directly through the tread, but probably couldn't be avoided in industrial Los Angeles. Tires might benefit from kevlar under the tread, not just on the sidewall.

Bottom Line:
The 1.25" Street Runners define what an urban/street tire should be. Pump 'em up to 100 psi, run ahead of clogged city traffic, and find the true speed hidden in that light weight MTB frame. Although it's a little more work than my road bike, I can keep up with many roadies when so inspired. Even at full pressure these float smoothly over potholes, railroad tracks and jointed pavement. I swerve for almost nothing, and ride as fast as possible on the commute to work. I will buy these again when the time comes.
BTW - if you commute more than a few miles, don't waste your hard eared $$$ on a low pressure tire. 100 psi is what you need in a slick.

1. Much, much, much faster than a fat 2" knobby. 2. Also, a quieter and smoother (much smoother) ride than a knobby on the street. 3. Cornering on the street improves phenomenally. 4. Tire sidewall reads kevlar bead, so at 20 bucks not a bad value.
Weaknesses:
1. A compromise tire: not as light or fast as a true 700 cc.

Bottom Line:
The product is great for what it is: a huge improvement in efficiency over a 2" knobby on the street.
Don't expect to be chasing down cars or passing them all of a sudden if you slap these onto a hardtail mountain bike, however. Wind resistance from an upright riding position due to a combination of a riser bar and suspension fork will have you crying and begging for a true road bike.

Excellent street tire - soft compound with minimal siping gives fantastic grip in wet and dry.
Weaknesses:
Rate of wear propbably related to compund density.
Similar Products Used:
IRC Metro 2.0" and 1.5" - wire bead a bit hard and difficult to seat bead, doesn't roll as well. Michelin city just too square a profile to allow fast turns. Specialized Fatboy 1" really fast but just too skinny for everyday urban assault.

Bottom Line:
I have a second set of wheels when for commuting or road rides, and the Geax are a great balance of weight, durability, and traction. They grip great on pavement and hardpack, both dry and wet, but they're a little slippy on looser terrain. A good choice for a commuter bike, or if you just want slicks on your mountain bike.
