These tires are great. I've been riding them for over a year. They're lightweight and the price is right. I'm a casual biker and ride a lightweight hardtail. I don't jump off of loading docks or do 50' Pac NW backcountry drops. The tread is reversable and fits front or back rim. These tires are a great upgrade from wire bead tires. FYI: the stock photo shows a green sidewall. Mine are regular black.

These are more for dual purpose road/trial or lite trail adventure.
I didn't like them on the heavier trails because they were washing out on me under 45 psi. But they pulled me through.
These tires aren't bad for both the road and the trail. Pump them up to 50-55 psi and hit the pavement and dirt. Although the stubs are a little soft, they have worn nicely - and I do much street riding and commute 12 miles round to work.
These thing are awesome since they have a balloon feel to them too! Too bad they don't make them any more. But still you can find them on ebay every once in while. 1.8" seem to be a more popular size on ebay though. I might go with that.

Durability (0 flats in a year of moderate/heavy riding and the tread is STILL looking good!), cornering, climbing, versitility (can run either "soft" or "hard"). They perform will in sand, moderate mud, hardpack, slick rock, and gravel.
Weaknesses:
Not the lowest in the rolling-resistance category...but I'm not setting any land-speed records as it is... Sidewalls starting to show some wear, some of the tread is starting to crack...but they are still running strong!

Bottom Line:
Bottom Line: These tires rock! An underrated company and an underrated tire. I highly recommend them for a variety of terrain!
The long answer: No question that these were an improvement over the Kona's aged stock tires on Texas trails. The handled the tight, twisty TX trails well. And they never hesitated on the variable trail conditions--rain, sand, dry, mud, hardpack, loose dirt, gravel, ROOTS, etc--that truely define Texas trails. But the real question was, could they perform well on a Full Susser out on the legendary trails of THE OC?!?! I ran with the Rocky Mountain's stock Pythons for ~1 month to give them an "honest try". After a month to get used to my new ride in it's stock condition, I swapped out the stock Pythons for the ol'reliable GEAX Sedona 200. Holy S%#T, what a difference that made! This is what prompted me to write a review after a year of riding with these tires!
My only complaint is that the Sedonas have considerably more rolling resistance compared to the Pythons. Your body will compensate to the uniqueness of your ride, so that shouldn't be a complaint unless you are a racer or "weight weeny". And in every other category I am still blown away by their performance! Compared to the Pythons, I could climb considerably better, sandy patches were no problem (it was like ICE to those damn Pythons); I experienced enhanced cornering, they grip well on off-camber sections of trail. Gravelly rock, ruts, whatever, they eat it up! While some would argue that the Pythons handle slick rock better, in my experience this was not the case.
Ultimately, it is the rider and not the ride that truely defines skill. Nevertheless, the Geax Sedona 200 tires demonstrate that components can and do effect the performance of your equipment.

As a front tire (mud direction). Feels like a balloon and do float over soft surface. Of all tires I've tried, this one got the best grip, traction, and cornering, not sure if its the hooked threads or the rubber compound or both, but it works!
Weaknesses:
Just speculation. Have not had any pinch flats or punctures so far but being of soft grippy rubber compound, I question its wear and durability when rolling over sharp edges and spins. I'd feel uneasy going below 30 psi on those tires.

Had a lot of recommendations on Sedona as front tires. Tried it and I'm sold, will be sticking the these for a while... The balloon feel, instead of digging into soft surface, floats over it and let the hooks control the direction, also cuts down on rolling resistence. Very grippy over rocks and hard pack surfaces.
And again, the weakness is just speculation, haven't experience any problems so far, haven't failed me on any technical abuse yet. Probably tougher then it looks.

Durability on the rear. Within 50 miles the knobs were undercut, and with under 100 miles on the tire it's throwing knobs and showing cord. The front seems to be holding up OK. I do ride a lot of sharp rocks, but that's all there is here.

Bottom Line:
I have the rear facing the hard direction and the front facing the soft direction (an atempt to maximize climbing on the back and braking on the front). When I threw these tires on I loved them. I would still love them if not for the severe rubber erosion on the back. If you like fast, twisty, smooth single track then I have not ridden a better tire. This tire may not look faith inspiring, but it is. It inspires confidence in corners and is fast (This is coming from someone who didnt want to ride them even when they were free). There are some short climbs around here that I can't get up that I might be able to do with a REALLY aggresive tire but the sedona is the best all-around rear tire that I know of. Bottom Line:
These are great tires. Really light, minimal tread, but they work great. I mostly ride on rocky/ hardpack stuff, and they stick like glue. Roll really fast, and the tread pattern continues around the sides so you can really lean predicatbly around corners. I run pretty good pressure, around 50psi F&R. I usually run both in the hard direction, but for softer, losser trails I'll flip 'em. Not bad on looser and sandy stuff either, when they've still got tread left. Which brings up the only negative I can find: These things wear out fast! I've only had my Sedona's on my bike for a few months now, and my back tire is almost a slick. Yeah, I've put a lot of miles on it (~500?) but its really worn. I mean, there is NO tread left on the contact patch. (Still sticks to the rocks though!) And the kevlar version ain't cheap ($50) to be replacing every month or two, at least not for a poor college student like myself! Probably headed to the shop this afternoon to buy a new one anyway though... 5 chiles if they wore better, but I guess that's the tradeoff to having soft sticky rubber. (staying off pavement would probably help some too - it really chews off the tread fast)

Again, I have nothing but good things to say about Geax tires, and the Sedona is no exception- (see my reviews on the Blade 200 and Hubi 160). Sedona's are most suited for rocky/dry conditions, because the tread is shorter than other tires. This allows more of the carcass of the tire to contact the ground, instead of riding up high on the tread blocks. So, they are good in sand too, (Sedona 225 even better). What I like most is that they have a rounded, evenly spaced profile that makes for smooth, consistent cornering and quieter, easier rolling. You don't get the choppy, bumpy ride with Sedona's. I use it on the rear in the soft direction, with a Blade 200 in front, also soft, for off-roading. I run them pretty stiff, between 50-55 p.s.i.; that gives me easier pedaling, faster rolling but I still get plenty o' bite and good feel for the ground. Oh yeah, they're nice and light, too! My girlfriend wants me to replace the IRC Mythos' on her Trek with these so she can ride smoother on the road and still go off-road. So, pick out the Geax's that best suit ya', then go out and get crazy! Way good stuff.

For the past few years I've always had condition-specific tires laying around in my closet for whatever riding layed before me. But not this last four months. All I have right now are a pair of Sedona 2.0's. (not to say I couldn't use a pair of mud tires). By looking at them you'd think them ridiculously wimpy, like wanna-be semi-slicks. I used to love the meatiest tires I could get my hands on and feel confident that I'd never lose it in a corner. But hot damn, these Sedona's are knocking me out. Very low rolling resistence, grip tenaciously on hard-pack and semi-loose, and do a decent job in the loose. They feel pretty good on road commutes too. Love these tires! Five chilis.

Bottom Line:
The best all-around tire for the typical hardpack found around Boulder. I've tried conti's (all most as good), specialized, panaracer, and nothing has the overall grip and low rolling resistance of these tires. In the mud season, I'll probably put the Blade/warp combo on, but Sedona's are now my tire of choice and $10 cheaper than contis.

This tire rules.I was riding a slick, and on courners I would slide out a little. I put this tire on and I stick and roll fast. The tire will slip on wet roots but it will perform in wet weather.Unfortunitly, I have to change the tire out, We have had a wet two weeks here, and I have gone down twice, and had a rough night ride last night but I will welcome this tire back next season for sure!

I've hesitated from ever reviewing a tire on this site, but the Geax 2.0 Sedona is worth mentioning. Seems like a lot of tire reviews go something like this: My old worn out tire ______ was terrible, but I love my new _____ , 5 Red Hot Flaming Chillies man.Anyway, the Geax tires really deliver on the promise of giving you low rolling resistance and still providing great traction. I think this is due in large part to their ability to hold an edge long after they're new. I just got back from 8 days backcountry along the Colorado Trail and these tires worked well for every condition. Picture worth a thousand words? The Geax Sedona 2.0 is a great tire. I have it on the back right now and I have no complaints. The first thing that I noticed about Geax tires is how soft they felt. I normally run high PSI to avoid flats but with even high PSI this Geax's felt more supple and responsive over terrain. It must be the green sidewalls creating a vertex or something... Kinda pricy but worth it!

These are great tires --it's unbelieveable how well they roll, but still hook up on sand & gravel. I am running the 2.0s both front & rear. These tires roll like slicks but break & climb rocky slopes like full knobbies. They are also exceptional pavement tires if you need to commute between trails. I also run the Warp/Hook combo from Geax. They are probaly better for mud, soft clay, hut IMO, don't track nearly as well at high speed on uneven hard pack. The Sedonas track like they are on rails, accelerate very well, yet still break with authority.

Truly amazing tire. I cannot believe that the guys at Geax have created a tire which combines such low rolling resistance with such substantial traction. The Sedona rolls like a slick but sticks like a knobby. This is the first tire I've tried which qualifies as truly dirt and pavement worthy. Unlike other racing slicks which I've tried the Sedonas can handle loose dirt, extreme uphills and gnarly downhills. The biggest drawback to these tires is that you won't believe that any tire with so little tread can stick so well. I can only conclude that the Geax guys are using magic in tire design. Can they redesign Clinton next?

Well, I have already reviewed the Warp 215(front), which I have coupled with a Sedona 200(rear). These are the greatest tires that money can buy. Speaking of which, they are relatively cheap. I got mine for $50/pr. They inspire confidence on the trail and are extremely smooth and quiet on the pavement. They are also very fast. The green sidewalls are freakin' awesome. They even look good on my orange Klein. If you want the best tires on the planet, GEAX with these!GIG 'EM!

i e-mailed geax for some advice. chuck ibis himself responded--3 times!!! he was very helpful and appreciated the feedback. i have tried the sedona, and find them to be excellent. they turn well, roll well, pedal easily, are light, good in sand and have a good feel. i have no complaints whatsoever. i also tried the hook/warp and posted a review on this site. i have tried many tires--almost all that are listed on this site, and will stick with the geax! they believe in their products and the products perform extremely well. (i ran the sedona in the soft direction front and rear; 48 lbs; terrain=mostly hardpack with loose, sand, hills, switchbacks thrown in) if you like grippy tires without feeling like you are towing a boat anchor, get geax!

I just got a pair of these Sedona's, and they are great. They roll really smooth on every surface so far, they get decent traction while climbing, and corner very nice. They are smooth and consistant through the turn, under power, and while braking, and inspire confidence all the time. The steel ones are only imperceptably heavier, and if you don't like the green sidewalls they come in pure black as well.

This is the best tire I've ever had. Wet/dry/hardpack/sandy/pine needles/rocky. . . best tire ever. Why? It's just so predictable--unless you do something stooopid, or hit the loose stuff too fast(technically this qualifies as stupid, but we all do it), it's going to stick. I've only ridden it on the rear, but when my front tire goes I'm replacing it with another Sedona. When I first got it, she seemed to be wearing down quickly, but that hasn't been a prob (I've got at least 300-500 miles on it). The aqua may not look good on YOUR bike, but you can't see it when you're rippin up tha trail!

Fast tire on hardpack and rocks. It floats very well on gravel or small rockbeds, letting me go much faster without getting bogged into the ground. I shaved minutes off my best times! Lower pressure works better- I'm 160lbs with 45 psi. Floats betters, feels like it rolls better (offroad+onroad) than highter psi->48-52psi makes the tire too harsh and rides only on the short knobs. The green gets all kinds of negative comments.

Who designs these tires? Vittoria, I think or is it those Ibis dudes? Anyway, I think they borrowed successful tread designs from other makers- but then doesn't everyone? The Sedona tire looks suspiciously like the Continental cross country without the hooks at the end. The warp looks somewhat like a Specialized Team control. The Blade (soft soil, mud) looks like the old Specialized Storm Control on a diet. The Grid is a Tioga Psycho outright and the Revert pays homage to the Bontrager guys. I'm not saying that they're not good tires, but, heck, the tread's been seen before- 's not mystery meat. All modeled after good tires with a hip glow in the dark green. Whereever, whatever they got those designs, they have improved on the tuning part- rubber is tougher, but not deadly-on-wet-roots-hard (a la Conti) and not soft eraser-like (a la Tioga,Specialzed Ummawhat the heck). Plus add on the cool factor of IbisMan with the stab you in the eye green along with the how the heck do you pronounce it name and you might have a winner- no other tire line has all that. Gimme.

Tire is good on rocky terrain, but I got a flat only 60 miles onto my rear one. Casing isn't as tough as I thought- but it is light. Supposedly, the tire is supposed to be have a stiff sidewall, but you need 48+psi to make it stiff, otherwise it's soft and very supple-too supple. Round shape makes it good for quick moves. Tread blocks are durable, no loose knobs after one good rocky ride. Bright garden hose green colour is distracting, but grippy and quick rolling.

Superb tire, stiff, light blocks, low rolling resistance, round quick profile, low slippage- slipping sound when you grind uphill- makes me wonder why some other treads slip so much. Great on hardpack, gravel, golfball rockbeds, good on sand and loose soil. Low tread floats well. Casing is supple and absorbs small bumps well- very good for its 2.0 size and high pressure- Doesn't leave me bouncing all over the place. And the tread isn't all cut up after a few good rides like some other performance tires. Green sidewall is love/hate, but if you leave it dirty... (although on some ads, I've seen black sidewalls) Best Xcountry tire for now- Performs better than my old fav Team Master.
