Submitted by Nate a Racer from Utah
Date Reviewed: January 23, 2005
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $20.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Did well in looser stuff, low rolling resistance
Weaknesses:Tiny air volume, packed up with mud relatively quickly, wore extremely quickly
Similar Products Used:Specialized stuff, Panaracer FireXCs, IRC Serac XC, Hutchinson Python, Tioga Red Pheonix
Bike Setup:GT ID-XC 1.0
Bottom Line:These were a panic tire, purchased about an hour before a race for 20 bucks for the pair. I had no idea what they were or what they would do, I knew they were skinny and light. They did okay in the mud during the race until they packed up, but sketchy cornering due to the small air volume (these could pass for cross tires) made going down switchbacks hell. After the race, about 50 percent of the knobs on my rear tire had been torn off. The back was a semi-slick after about 2 weeks, and the front soon followed. Bad tire! MSRP on these is WAY too high...

Date Reviewed: March 5, 2001
Favorite Trail:rocky hill ranch
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $37.00
Purchased At:prefer not to say
Strengths:weight, width, mud traction
Weaknesses:a bit pricy (is that how you spell that?) 80 bones for the pair retail
Similar Products Used:wtb racing raptors 46/50
Bike Setup:'00 GF Kaitai, SID XC, CK headset, XT RD, a few tweeks (I can't tell you all my secrets, hehe)
Bottom Line:I'm glad my competetion wasn't running these tires this past weekend at the WARDA RACE. go check out www.tmbra.org to see some postings. This race was probably the muddiest race in recent memory. All my pro/expert friends told to run skinny tires so i got the sedona 185's from geax. these ripped @$$ in the mud. althouh i finished a paultry 16th, i attribute my finishing at all to these tires. great trakshun in the soupy mess that was the track. I was lactic 2 and a half miles into it. gotta keep peddling though.
bottom line, the geax sedona 185 made the difference. they won't be coming off my rims anytime soon.. unless i get new rims, that is.

Submitted by Bill a Cross Country Rider from mississauga, ontario
Date Reviewed: April 7, 2000
Favorite Trail:Kenfra, but only on tuesday
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Strengths:Fast rolling, supple for a 1.85
Similar Products Used:Notos 1.7, conti XC pro 1.5, smoke 1.9, mythos 1.95, spec dirt control/master
Bike Setup:I used these on a rocky mountain vertex, I normally ride a steel,(whatever I haven't used up) bicycle
Bottom Line:Surprised at how little squirm there was on hardpack and pavement as the knobs are quite tall and narrow, plenty of traction for a racing knobby but a little heavy compared to its direct competition; about 1/4 pound more per tire. Not a bad buy but there are better choices available
