Favorite Trail:FINS
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $20.00
Purchased At:EBAY
Strengths:Great grip, good lifespan, excellent transition into turns
Weaknesses:All the great gripping knobs affect speed
Similar Products Used:Nevegal, Fire XC Pro, Conti Slash
Bike Setup:Singletrack rims, Hadley hubs, XO and Bomber fork
Bottom Line:Desert biking is full of sharp rocks and cactus needles. The Loco Lobo tires do well here. They might be a little more narrow than advertised. They are absolutely fantastic and going up, down, and turning. I have had great longevity with them- I got 6 months of rides from my first pair. They can even be used with tubeless kits. You will not win races on these tires, they are fast everywhere except a straight line. But I sure love them.

Date Reviewed: August 6, 2007
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $50.00
Strengths:Strong tyre, good at most things esp loose soil & rocks. Very good wearing, even with the sticky compound.
Weaknesses:Not great in mud.
Similar Products Used:Nevegals, Blue Groove, Kharma, Fat Albert, Wildgripper, Hot S, Mythos, Spyder, Explorer, Vertical
Bike Setup:Reign
Bottom Line:This was for the 2.3 sticky compound. (2.3 is smaller than the 2.35 Nevegal but larger than the Conti Vertical). Tried them up front and on back. Weighed ~800g from memory. Good rolling for the size and the versatile tread pattern lends itself well as a rear tyre IMO. Not quite as good up front on more extreme angles as a Nevegal, but more efficient roller.

Submitted by Christopher a Cross Country Rider from Kansas City
Date Reviewed: July 25, 2007
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $70.00
Purchased At:Mountian High Cyclery
Strengths:Looks cool, feels solid, fairly fast with moderate grip.
Weaknesses:Traps mud and holds it like super glue! High PSI causes slippage on every obstacle.
Similar Products Used:Kenda Nevegal, Bontrager something or others...
Bike Setup:Cake 1, Magura Phaon fork, Avid BB7 Disc, Thomson Stem & post, Profile carbon bars, Mavic 819 with DT Swiss comps & Hope hubs. Race Face atlas cranks, Sram X-7 shifters with X-9 derailures
Bottom Line:I puchased these with the hope that I could get some good, all around traction in the Kansas City area. The mud WILL NOT come out of these things, even at 25mph on the road. They do hold well and are fairly fast when the conditions are dry and sandy. I could see them being great for Moab type riding but stay clear for the sticky mud terrain. Keep the PSI LOW! When you run it high, it will slide off roots and rocks!

I dropped the PSI and the grip improved dramatically. They feel solid and can take a good beating with big drops being no issue. The cornering is moderate with better than average stability. I would say these are best for solid downhill and freeride. Cross Country riders... look elsewhere.

Date Reviewed: April 13, 2007
Favorite Trail:Longhorn
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $32.00
Purchased At:jenson
Strengths:Deep lugs, good rolling resistance, good traction in all condiitons
Weaknesses:couldn't be mounted to a UST rim in ghetto fashion, but that wasn't what it was made for.
Similar Products Used:conti vert pros
Bike Setup:yeti 575
Bottom Line:I have had the tire front and rear for 6 weeks now. It has been a solid tire. Only one flat, a high speed pinch flat that i probably deserved, running too low pressure with a tube. I tired to mount this tire to a UST Mavic 819 rim and was unsucessful. I'll be getting the TNT or UST version shortly to replace the regular version that I a currently running with tubes. Been out to Moab, it was fantastic on slickrock, great in muddy conditions on the front range as well as the regular dry conditions I am use to here. I've personally had and seen too many failures with the contis and have found my new favorite all around tire.
