very good tyre for almost all conditions, also not expensive very fast, good grip and pretty silent on tarmac and gravel, only lacks perf in heavy mud and other soft surfaces not a dh tyre, only 2.0" ...but isn't for dh so its not a weakness at all 4 flamin chilis for value of this great all-cond. tyre and 5 for the overall rating buy it&you won't regret it..

Strengths:
Tough, lightweight, great castings. Fast rolling tires that corner well and climbs well on most hardpack. Rides almost like a slick on street-doesn't have the noisy "knobby" sound. I have run other Geax tires over the years and have been very happy with all of them. Surprised they don't have a bigger following.They last a very long time.
Weaknesses:
actual weight is 580 grams the factory claims 550. I don't know why they have 500 grams listed above. Also, More like a 1.9 inch tire than a full 2.0, so a bit skinny by today's standards.

Strengths:
Fast. Excellent grip in most conditions. OK in sand given its narrow width. Quiet if you have to ride a bit of pavement, something I try to avoid. The first first time I used the Arrojo (front) my average speed on an easy jaunt on a norrow single track increased by about 15-17%. The bike felt more alive and snappy than before the change. The Geax, with a Contiental Survival Pro (2.1) on the back replaced a pair of Specialized Adreneline's (2.1 and 2.3). The smaller Conti added to the improvement, but I give the Geax a lot of the credit. It makes the front end of the bike feel secure and stable--a very nice feeling.
Weaknesses:
None, unless you fault the tire's narrow width. It measured 1.95 inches when inflated to 40 PSI. Obviously a small difference, and perhaps I'm spoiled by some tires that are wider than marked.

Very, very, very fast. On firm stuff it corners, climbs and brakes well. Hooks up better than you'd think when you look at it.
Weaknesses:
Kinda ricochets off rocks and bumps. Feeling of "rebounding". Not a plush feel. (Better if it's run soft) Got to be the skinniest 2.1 I've ever seen.

Strengths:
Grip, Feel, Speed, Toughness. Lightning fast tire that hooks up incredibly well as a race or fast X-C tire.
Weaknesses:
For intended use, absolutely none. Deep mud and gnarly loose terrain are past this tires limits, but you have different tires for that, don't you?

This tire rips for fast X-C riding in all conditions. Killer rolling speed, fantastic grip on hardpack, loose over hard, leaves, rocks, roots, wet, light mud, even reasonably loose & soft terrain. Delivers way more grip in wet and dry than you would expect from an almost semi-knob tire. Blows away all other racing use tires for grip, equally fast or faster, and delivers more traction that most full knobbies in all but the more extreme conditions. (Remember, this is a 2.0" race tire, not a DH tire)
Huge fan of Geax tires in general- can't undersand why they aren't more popular. Have gone through two sets of Blades on my hardtail over 5 years, they last forever, and grip like crazy in the mud, soft, & loose where no one else can. Run the Sturdy on the back on my Slayer, great blend of climbing, cornering, braking traction in mixed East Coast freeride conditions. Needs a little grab @ high lean and sticky rubber to be perfect. All Geax tires have great feel, great grip in the wet, long wearing Kevlar rubber, and are a great value. Get yourself hooked up- guarantee you'll like them.

I think these are an undiscovered classic XC racing tire. All tires are a compromise of speed and grip, and I think these are one of the best designs I've seen. They are great for fast XC riding/racing but you would probably want something beefier for bashing around and jumping off houses, etc.

What makes mountain biking fun for me is seeing how fast I can go through corners without hitting a tree. Out of all the above-mentioned tire, these are the best at keeping your speed through a corner. When they do wash out, they break away smoothly and recover well.
The only tire I’ve ridden with better rolling resistance has been a semi slick.
They also have surprisingly good braking and traction on hills for a tire that roles this fast. I ride them year around in snow, frozen rutted ground, mud and hard pack. The only apparent weakness is in deep, high water content mud, and they will go through that. They shed mud well and are good out of creek crossings and the like. They are better than any other tire that I’ve ridden on wet roots and wet leaf covered trails.
The closet tire I’ve owned to these are the panaracer 1.8 fire XC pros. Somehow the geax role noticeably faster and have better straight-line traction at the same time than the panaracers, wet or dry. The panaracers also suck in mud, however, come pretty close to cornering as well as the geax in dry conditions.
They have been one the best wearing tires, if not the best tires I’ve owned as well. I was considering buying some pythons or comp s just to try them out for my next set, but read too many negative reviews on the pythons washing out and the Michelins being weak. This is the first set of tires that I’ll buy a second set of. I’m surprised that there aren’t more reviews on them.

Very fast in nearly all conditions. I've run them in snow, frozen mud, dry hardpack, soft clay, light mud, heavy mud and loose gravel. Loved them in all but the heavy mud. Very light, excellent grip in the corners, Very predictible handling. Very supple on roots and rocks. I run mine with Performance Lunar Light tubes and have only flatted once and only to thorns.
Weaknesses:
Heavy mud but, I've only ridden one tire that was any good in the sticky stuff (Panaracer Pyro).

Strengths:
Low rolling resistance, good grip in dry and works ok in muddy conditions.
The tyre is more knobby than a semislick. I had the the IRC Mythos XC setup(slick rear/XC front) on my bike, which worked perfectly, but I wanted to try something else for a change. The Arrojo weights 540gr, almost same as the IRC setup. Good all around tyre.
