Strengths:
Good Riding Position, Solid Frame (I'm searching for something good to say here)

Crap components and transmission. Generally Fragile.

I also own a 10 year old CCM and a slightly newer schwinn MTB.
Bike Setup:
Stock (except I've had to replace the rear wheel, pedals, crank, and seat because these components were especially bad)
Bottom Line:
Seriously... The Gary Fisher Tarpon bike is trash. If you plan on doing anything close to trail riding or are going to ride your bike often spend some more money and get a real mountain bike (in the end it will save you $$ and frustration). I'm warning you DO NOT buy this bike. My ten year old CCM puts this bike to shame (in fact this is what I end up riding on trails most often since the Gary Fisher is always broken). I have had it for one summer and have broken the bottom bracket 3x, the rear axel and quick releases 2x, and the crank. The components on this bike really do leave much to be desired. The seat and pedals are also sub par. I have had so many problems they have decided their supposed 1 year warranty no longer applies. Seriously..... if you want to really ride STAY AWAY from this hunk of junk!

Strengths:
Good components, sturdy frame, great price, looks GOOD! great for riders who want a nice bike for not a lot of $$$!
Weaknesses:
steel frame-kinda heavy for serious "stump jumping"
Bike Setup:
stock setup-hasn't been modified-but I'd like to maybe put a suspension fork to make it a little less rigid
Bottom Line:
GREAT BUY! HIGHLY recommended! haven't seen a better bike for the money!!!
