Date Reviewed: August 2, 2004
Favorite Trail:Single trail
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $800.00
Purchased At:Mammoet The Hague
Strengths:To my opinion the frame geometry, relatively small handlebar and comfortable saddle are ideal for smaller girls and ladies.
Weaknesses:Pedals, I replaced them for Shimano clipless pedals
Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:Stock, except for the pedals, which I replaced for Shimano clipless
Bottom Line:I consider the bike great value for money, even though the bike is more expensive in Europe (where I live) than in Canada or the US. I appreciate Gary Fisher for designing a good and tough mountainbike for women. Feminine, easy shifting, lightweight, good breaking and excellent climb and decent properties just great to ride!!

Date Reviewed: March 19, 2003
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $700.00
Purchased At:Stewert's Bike Shop
Strengths:Good brakes, good fork, good frame (for the price). It is fun to ride, a step up from the Wal Mart bike. (at $500 more) I like this bike overall.
Weaknesses:Price
Similar Products Used:Fisher Marlin, Trek 4500
Bike Setup:Factory
Bottom Line:This is a great bike, I do not like the cost, but if you got it, spend it. Right? Hey if you got time to go mountain biking, you might as while by it. It has cool colors but if you want a bike that looks cool you can buy one at TOYS R US!

Date Reviewed: May 30, 2002
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $550.00
Purchased At:Bike World
Strengths:Genesis Geometry, components, and overall value.
Weaknesses:pedals...if you add straps they do not work. You actually have to buy different platform pedals that will allow for straps.
Similar Products Used:none
Bike Setup:stock, except added bar ends, bottle cage, and different pedals.
Bottom Line:I ride downtown and on trails. So, it sees a variety of terrain. This bike is perfect for me and is setup for a "lady." I like the short cockpit because it helps me climb and not feel so "stretched." The pedals blow...nuff said. Replace them before walking out of the shop. I've been on this bike for about a year now and could not be happier. It's a great value at the price point, and I'd highly recommend to other "ladies."

Submitted by Andrea Campbell a Weekend Warrior from Ontario, Canada
Date Reviewed: May 21, 2002
Favorite Trail:Spring Valley
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $700.00
Purchased At:Freewheel Cycle Dundas
Strengths:Great bike. I used to hate climbing hills on my old bike, but the Tassajara GS makes them easy. Great control on downhill. Fits me perfectly. I had many problems finding a bike to fit someone with shorter legs. Lightweight, which is great for girls with not much upper body strength when it comes to throwing the bike in the back of a car.
Weaknesses:Sometimes I have difficulty shifting because I have short fingers, but I think thats my weakness, not the bikes.
Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:Stock except for longer seat post.
Bottom Line:I love this bike. I am very happy that I decided to spend the extra money to get a bike that I can grow into. The Gary Fisher bikes gave me the best value for my money.
The Tassajara GS has some great components. It's fun AND comfortable to ride, it also looks feminine yet cool.

Similar Products Used:My first real mountain bike and most likely my next!
Bike Setup:Even though I like to do rough sports, I like the overall feminine look of the bike.
