Fresh off the widely acclaimed movie "Shift" comes another incredible 16mm film by Jörli Ricker. Ricker has once again "raised the bar" for cinematography combined with riding at the ceiling of the next level. Busting out huge cliffs, gaps, hips, transfers, double sets, roof drops and wall rides with burly performances by a fresh spread of mountainbiking's top rippers. Ride to the Hills takes you on a journey from B.C. to Utah searching for lines through freerider eyes, such as: Wade Simmons, Dave Watson, Andrew Shandro, Ryan Leech, Jesse Roberts, Thomas Vanderham, Jordie Lunn, and others.....

Strengths:
great soundtrack, amazing riding, good mix of riders.
Weaknesses:
not long enough
Similar Products Used:
Chainsmokes, all NWD, Kranked 2,3,4,5, Superheroes 2,
Bike Setup:
125 SS street hardtail
Bottom Line:
I've watched a lot of videos and none of them have come close to being as good as thing one. Everything else is just a huckfest with little to no style, RTTH comes back again and again with style and amplitude.

Strengths:
Great production, Accomplished riders, Appropriate music, Ryan Leach segment
Weaknesses:
Too jump-oriented, some scenes too long
Similar Products Used:
Kranked series, NSX series, New World Disorder series
Bottom Line:
I didn't care much for it at first, but find myself with parts of the soundtrack in my head and want to watch it again.
It has some great freeriding segments, but gets bogged down by too many jumps. I find myself fast forwarding through some sections.
3 for value (kind of short) 4 for overall since it does light a fire under my arse

Strengths:
Ryan Leech's segment is good, some urban stuff
Weaknesses:
you see the same jumps over and over again, editing is OK at best, the music is good but doesn't belong on a bike movie, nothing that has never been done in earlier flicks, nothing to amaze you, doesn't really make you wanna ride
Similar Products Used:
the 4 Krankeds, NWD 1 and 2, Evolve, Contact, lots more
Bike Setup:
PX zebdi for trials, Trek 7000 for xc, soon getting a freeride hardtail for jumps and stuff
Bottom Line:
Don't buy. Rent and copy. There is nothing new in there, full of annoying slow-mo takes, instrumental hiphop and stuff like that is good but not appropriate to a bike movie... I guess it's the kind of movie that you have to watch while you're high to actually enjoy it.

Strengths:
Good photography
Weaknesses:
In a word....BORING!
Similar Products Used:
Kranked, Chainsmoke, The Circus, etc...
Bottom Line:
How many times can you watch someone jump? Ten minutes into this video, I was looking for the fast forward button in the hope of finding something interesting. Pretty much everything in this vid has been already done in some earlier flicks. The aerial shots aren't even as good as those done years ago in Chainsmoke and ReTread. Compared to a film like The Circus, Ride is pretty lame. Not recommended.

Bottom Line:
It's not a bad video exactly but it tries to be to artsy which tends to stunt the flow. Definitely too short for the asking price. I'd buy it used for 9.99 but I still prefer Kranked 3. BTW, some of those crashes look downright painful. I hope no bikes got hurt in the making of this film.

expensive for a video makes me feel like a poser
Similar Products Used:

Bottom Line:
This is the best thing I have ever seen on my TV. The music rocks, and the biking is awesome. The quality is excellent-flows better than all of the Kranked videos. I can't see a bike video getting much better than this.

Weaknesses:

Similar Products Used:
NSX series, Kranked series, Shift, Down.
Bike Setup:

Bottom Line:
Worth watching if you can borrow it from a friend. I bought this and "Search for the Holey Trail" on the same day. RTTH is gathering dust, whilst "Seach.." has found a home in the VCR slot. I don't like to put put down somebodys hard work and investment, but this video just doesn't cut it (for me anyway).
