Strengths:
Comfortable, cool, offer good protection, look great
Weaknesses:
Questionable quality control, poor choice on some materials

Bike Setup:
Trance X1 2009 (Aussie spec): Fox RL120 remote 15mm, Fox RP23, XT: UST rims, gears & brakes; otherwise Race Face Deus, Gobi XM saddle Crossmark tyres.
Also ride: 2006 Synapse with Durace, Mavic Open Pro, Serfas Furano saddle;
Cannondale Street Tandem 2007.
Bottom Line:
First-up light, decent protective glove. Although I still have concerns (see below), my two current pairs have served me well on road and mtb for several months with limited signs of wear. I have hit my hands on trees and bushes, taken a reasonable fall and my hands were well protected.
I use them also on my road bike: in cool weather (not cold)for protection from temperature and in warm weather (as they don't result in hands overheating) while providing good crash protection.
Purchased original pair in Mar 09. On my first pair: after two rides I pulled the kevlar from the palm stitching (the rides were along concrete bike paths, no significant off road or hard riding). BS replaced this pair.
Second pair: one ride under similar conditions to above, exactly the same problem. Simon from Monza (distributor) was in shop, he replaced gloves and suggested a bike fit. Bit fit resulted in rotating bars up and away (thereby reducing sweepback). The sweepback had meant outside heal of hand was pushing hard against grip (hard knurled rubber Giant clamp ons), thereby wearing outermost section of grip and stressing glove. Personally this failure still concerns me although I have not had any problems since.
Like previous review, the velcro snags on material on back of hand, snarling and leaving pulled threads. Most other Fox gloves have more appropriate material on back of hand.
Sent feedback to Fox USA and distributor, no response.
So: gloves fit well, provide good dexterity and lever control; are comfortable, cool in warm conditions; preventing frostbite in cool conditions (but I am a bit of a furnace anyway),provide good impact protection and look hot! My pairs are solid black and solid white. The two durability concerns are listed above and therefore you may (as others have described) be at the mercy of your LBS and /or Fox. Current rating would be higher but for lingering concerns.

Bottom Line:
First time off the bike my middle finger blew through the side wall with a 2 cm tear. Not another mark on the glove. All the reviews that like this glove are early 2008 or earlier. All the recent ratings are very low. Makes me think they moved production off shore or something.

The velcro on the 2009 model is designed horribly. It sticks to the polyester that covers the top of your and everytime you put them on you have to tear the velcro from the polyester causing immediate tear and wear. SUCKS

Bottom Line:
Euro customer service from Fox is, as expected, terrible. I used the gloves for about 8 rides, then they fell apart in the washing machine. The carbon protection detatched completely on both gloves, the exterior stitching fell apart.
Shop told me it was obviously my fault - "excessive temperature/spin cycle". I told them this was not the case, I had rigorously followed instructions and invited them to return the gloves to Fox. Fox confirmed the same - that I must have "boiled them". Will not purchase any fox products in the future.
Anectodally, I have also been told that Fox routinely refuses returns of its products (following US HMO model?).
Zero stars.

Great fit, light, good ventilation, carbon knuckle protection
Weaknesses:
Caused blisters the first few times, but eventually I broke them in and the fit was great. Finger stitching stinks, started unraveling after 2 months.

Bottom Line:
I like these gloves, and what is preventing me from loving them is the stitching. Some may not mind busting out the sewing kit, but for 40 bones I expect more durability.

Strengths:
palm is layered well to keep my palms not hambergered.
Weaknesses:
The glove is a bit loose at the correct size. these things start to smell funky after a couple hours of riding, and make anything they touch smell funky too. a wash would make it go away but it would come right back. my other gloves dont do that.
Bottom Line:
these are OK gloves. If youre gonna get carbon gloves you might as well go all the way instead of just outer protection. Im probly gonna switch to troy lee apexes. wished these came in hot pink or something instead of white.

Strengths:
Carbon knuckle protection, wrist strap, Vents on fingers, looks good...
Weaknesses:
Inner stitching leave marks on hands, uncomfortable because of the thick stitching inside the gloves, poor stitching like other Fox gloves that easily comes off after many uses and falls, not that thick padding on palms

Bottom Line:
This is are cool looking gloves that protects most of the outer side of your hands. The sidewinder is more comfortable.
I would still recommend these gloves for agressive riders because of the carbon knuckle protection and for the price that I payed.

Bottom Line:
The top side (back of the hand) of the gloves is very well made and designed, and the carbon looks cool and is large enough to fit comfortably on your outside knuckles. The palm is a different stroy though.... I had one stack and went face first into the concrete (get on the dirt hey), and i put my hands out to stop me, and the palm lost all of its stitching and left a hole in them. I was very dissapointed in this palm, as the comfort of them is really very good. Marked down also for the $70 Aus price tag...

I took a look at these gloves based on Mountain Bike UK's favourable review of them... The fit of these gloves is perfect for my hand. Palm has additional layer of "leather" securely stitched in, and no "padding" added. palm does not bunch up, provides a very direct feel of the grip/bar. I hate hate hate thick palmed gloves, and these represent the "get a feel for your bike" mentality over the padded isolated feeling of so many gloves I've tried on. I had the opportunity to superman over the bars into some nasty gravel at decent speed, and the palms show'd no deterioration. Hands were fine... elbows not so lucky. The back of the inner 2 fingers is made of a tough feeling and flexible material and is breathable. The outer 2 fingers are made even tougher, and have perforations back towards the hand for more ventilation. Thumb has a bit of terry on it for sweaty brow wipe'n. Could use more for my likes. The carbon knuckle thing seems a good idea. I had the misfortune of testing it on a nasty fall into rock over rock switchback, and, I have very swollen outer knuckles, but, not broke... cannot say the same for my nose.
I tend to keep stuff for a long time. My last gloves had gone thru several "repairs" to keep them going, and are no longer made. I'm going to pick up another pair of the unabombers so that in several years when I give up on my current pair, if they are no longer made, I'll still have a new a pair.
