Favorite Trail:Scrapper's Farm
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $19.00
Purchased At:WheelWorld.com
Strengths:Looks, comfort
Weaknesses:Developed hole after two rides, seams coming apart on both gloves after mild use. No wind protection.
Similar Products Used:Azonic, Raceface(the best gloves i've had, wish i could find them)
Bike Setup:Rocky Mountain Switch
Bottom Line:These are cheap-a$$ gloves made in some sweat shop in Asia. Fox is a brand image, not a quality clothing manufacturer. Read the reviews on this website and get something better

Date Reviewed: November 27, 2007
Favorite Trail:Cameron Park in Waco
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $17.00
Purchased At:Pricepoint.com
Strengths:Thin so you can still feel what your fingers are doing. For the price they are good for recreational riding. Serious riders should look for something tougher.
Weaknesses:Sizing is off and durability is questionable. I ordered the large because that's the size the chart recomended for my hand width, but I really need an X-large. Had some trouble reaching the shift trigger because the palm was too tight. Also, I found 2 holes in the finger seams when I put them on for my first ride. Can't return them now because they've been used, but they weren't expensive so I'll tough it out for now. Not very warm though.
Similar Products Used:Only fingerless weightlifting gloves, which are durable and more affordable than most bike gloves I've seen.
Bike Setup:Trek 3700 Factory setup
Bottom Line:If you can get them on sale for a good price, and do not ride in really cold weather they might be ok. Be sure to get a size larger than the chart recommends. I may try to do some tailoring on mine to make them fit better.

Date Reviewed: July 4, 2006
Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:Great design and ventilation
Weaknesses:Started to fall apart in 2 months of not really intensive use. The sews are weak and the kevlar palm is not sewn in strong enough.
Bike Setup:Gary Fisher Biggns Bitter, Manitou Stance Static
Bottom Line:Do not buy, if you're not a bit of a tailor yourself.

Submitted by John a Weekend Warrior from Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Date Reviewed: August 4, 2005
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $23.00
Purchased At:www.foxracing.ca
Strengths:Great style, function of the 2002 model year glove.
Weaknesses:The fit of these size 10/L gloves feels a little looser then the size 10/L 2002 Fox Sidewinder gloves I use.
Similar Products Used:1997 Answer Stylus, 2002 Fox Sidewinder, 2002 Troy Lee Design SE.
Bike Setup:2001 Trek Fuel 90 Disk, 1996 GT Ricochet.
Bottom Line:I ordered these gloves online at the same time I ordered a pair of 2002 Fox Sidewinder gloves on sale in Nov. 2003 after a crash on a night ride on Oct.15,03.
My pair are grey in colour as the black colour in size 10/L were sold out. I've only used these a few times when I go out on day & night rides and the gloves from the day ride are still quite damp.
Bottom Line: These gloves fit a little looser then my Sidewinders and when it comes to controlling your bike... fit means everything.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $10.00
Purchased At:Sierra Trading post
Strengths:Styling, offers more knuckle protection than my Dirtpaws, hell of a price
Weaknesses:they are definitely warmer than the Dirtpaw, not as ventilated. The Sidewinder or one of the new kevlar jobs like the 661 Gracia would offer more protection.
Similar Products Used:Fox Dirtpaw
Bike Setup:Bullit, Super T
Bottom Line:For $10, they were a steal. And Fox is So Hot Right Now.

Favorite Trail:Bonneville Shoreline
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $10.00
Purchased At:Sierra Online
Strengths:Great price, looks cool, tight fit. Purchased to replace bulky snow gloves for early spring rides. Hands aren't warm, but better than I thought after they arrived.
Weaknesses:Size chart is very weird, I bought the XXL thinking they would run a little big. They fit like, well, a glove. Terry cloth is on the thumb instead of the back of the hand. very little padding. No biggy.
Similar Products Used:No name fingerless.
Bike Setup:Fastrax NX 8.5 with Sram X-7 comp. EXR pro fork. Avid disk.
Bottom Line:As stated above, I bought them because they were cheap and might cut the wind. Worked out well.

Date Reviewed: October 6, 2004
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $30.00
Purchased At:$50 at HiWay Cycles
Bottom Line:
After wear and tear:
- the internal feels slightly rough
- the seams are very irritating
- vents OK
- finger grippers almost gone
- terry cloth, not top-notch stuff: pilling and seams going dodgy
- still looks cool

Minus 1 chilli.

For another AUD$15 I can get SixSixOne Descend gloves and I've used Descends when they were made by AXO and they're still the best glove I've ever used overall. I know I'm replacing these Statics with the 661's

Date Reviewed: August 10, 2004
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $22.00
Purchased At:store shop
Strengths:killer looks
Weaknesses:poor ventilation, not enough pads to protect you from crash. The rubber strip on the index finger doesn't really works
Similar Products Used:I've used a much better product than this. I only bought it cuz the saleslady gave me a special discount
Bike Setup:giant xtc team issue frame, easton cockpit, truvativ cranks, 03 xtr hubs, front & rear derailleur
Bottom Line:Dont buy this product if you want total protection from crash. Its poorly ventilated so i wouldn't recommend it if u have a tropical weather like here in the Phils. But if you want an attention from your fellow riders then go for it. If you have extra buck i suggest the rudy project full finger. Its properly ventilated and well padded.

Date Reviewed: July 1, 2004
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $20.00
Purchased At:Supergo
Strengths:Great fit, great protection, terry cloth wipe on thumbs
Weaknesses:Could use a little more padding on the palm
Similar Products Used:Pearl Izumi, Louis Garneau
Bottom Line:Well, even though these gloves are well ventilated, they are still hot if I'm riding out in the open. I should have bought the gray ones instead but overall, I'm really pleased with these gloves and compared to my lightweight LGs, with no rubber on the fingers, the Statics ventilate just as well.

Next time around though, I'll be sure to pick up a lighter color. They're great in the winter, too. I've ridden in temps down to 5 deg. and have been comfortable with them (after I get warmed up :) )

Strengths:I think this glove looks really sweet, and it is very light. it is cool and not too hot.
Weaknesses:I think that it doesnt have enough padding in the palm.
I dont think you should buy it if you want protection from hard crashes, but just for scratches and such should be fine.
Bike Setup:Specialized P.2 stock
Bottom Line:i think this glove is well worth the money, and it feels and looks great. they add nice style to the riding, and are nice to wear

Date Reviewed: January 14, 2004
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:good grip, light, decent ventilation
Weaknesses:WEAK, used up materials, had holes in the hand within a month, braking rubber grips on fingers completely gone within a week, seams of the padding getting off, cheap glove. And don't tell me it's just me because 2 of my friends had the same problems.
Similar Products Used:any cheap gloves
Bottom Line:I sent my gloves to this C R A P P Y company and they wouldn't even guaranteed them saying it's usual wear. I work in a bike shop and i know what should and what shouldn't be guaranteed and this really should, we are sure going to complain to the company. And they didn't even offered to repair them!!! What kind of company is that???
I paid these gloves at cost and it's still too expensive.

Submitted by Jonathan Wee a Weekend Warrior from Perth, WA, Australia
Date Reviewed: January 5, 2004
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $25.00
Purchased At:A$49.95 at HiWay Cycles
Strengths:The pic above is outdated.
-the new glove like mine in red looks awesome and kind of matches the 'McLaren' colour scheme of my bike and some gear.
-good balance between flexibility and durablity and padding
-small rubber 'grippers' on index and middle fingers for braking
-tough-built but cool enough for an aussie summer
Weaknesses:-the rubber 'grippers' mention above are starting to bubble abit on my right glove, probably due to the combination of summer heat, heavy use on a slippery-as-hell gravel trail course and grippy Michelin handgrips. but that does not ruin using this wonderful glove.
Similar Products Used:-Answer -first glove when I was twelve, fibre grip area, STUPID!, outworn both my gloves and my brother's rarely used pair in 3/4 of a year

-AXO - used my rarely used glove with leather grip area, thin-ass material lasted longer but not by much.

-O'Neal -bought to replace the AXOs but lost one glove on trip to Rottnest, area btweenthe index finger and thumb star to wear through on the right side, because I use grip-shifters.
Bike Setup:Avanti Ventura FX with Rock Shox Judy XC Air
Bottom Line:-Heaps better than all my other gloves combined, only sign of wear is with the finger rubber grippers, but very little. No sign of wear or fatigue on any other part of the glove no matter how many times I have crash on them.
-Built tough but not hot and stuffy to use during summer.
-Priced higher than my other gloves but well worth the extra cash for this wicked glove.

RESPECT to all the 12 hour riders esp. solo riders in the upcoming 2004 12hr Ward Cycles race.

Price Paid: $20.00
Strengths:Looks great and feels even better. There is padding on both sides for protection and plenty of grip to hold on to your handle bars and pull your brakes. I've found the grips on your first to fingers a nice touch, whether it makes a huge difference is a matter of opinion.
Weaknesses:There isn't a whole lot of padding on the underside where you grip the handlebars, so you may feel it if you're braking a fall, but it does add it flexibility.
Similar Products Used:Old open fingered Trek gloves
Bike Setup:Cannondale F400
Bottom Line:Nice fit at a great price (great deals at Supergo for last year's models)

Strengths:Comfy and cool
Weaknesses:could do with a little more padding
Bike Setup:Specialized Rockhopper
Bottom Line:A very protective and comfy glove that fits well and is made with excellent quality. The only problem is that the glove could either do with a little extra padding in the palm area or hava kevlar patch in the palm area, but apart from that this is an excellent glove.

Favorite Trail:Platteklill
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $39.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Comfortable, stylish,Fox durability and reliabilty. Comes in a wide assortment of colors.
Weaknesses:Well the biggest weakness for me was that they didn't come with the terry cloth on the thumb to wipe away sweat. That is such a cool, but more importantly useful feature. As other reviewers have pointed out, the glove could def use a little bit more padding in the palm area. It'z fine the way it is now, but a little more padding would be much better! And Fox, please do something about the fingers on your gloves. The fingers are like the first things to go. Mine are holding up very well, but this has been a problem for me with previous pairs of Fox gloves.
Similar Products Used:GT, AXO, Fox Sidewinder,Pawtector
Bike Setup:2001 Big Hit, Shiver WC, Doublewides, hope, Raceface cranks and Gazzi'z
Bottom Line:Good all around glove. I really think the terry cloth thumb should be standard on all MTB gloves. With the exception of maybe the light XC gloves. Add more padding and durable fingers and u have one of, if not the BEST mtb gloves on the planet!

Favorite Trail:Karpiel to Dogbone to bailout
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $32.00
Purchased At:Hank and Franks
Strengths:These gloves are very padded and comfortable. Have a ton of protection and last forever.
Weaknesses:Before you buy these, know that the the little rubber strips on the gloves do peel off but they had no real use in the first place. Second- If you own these gloves and have had them for a while and have gotten them so dirty and smelly to the point where your thinking about buying new ones, handwash them. My red ones had gone from bright to dark red and the palms had turned dark and hard. Then I handwashed them. The first four times the water turnded dark black. When I finished they were in perfect condition! Bright red and the soles were light gray and soft. These gloves rule.
Similar Products Used:None compare.
Bike Setup:02 Giant AC air, gt flats and nokian gazza jr 2.6 front and back.
Bottom Line:These gloves are the best. Buy them. They last forever. And wash them every two months.

Strengths:-Light
-Durable
-Flexable
-Made of quality material
-Fine ventalation
Weaknesses:-Could be more confortable
-Needs more padding
-Finger tips need to be more durable
Bottom Line:Nice glove. On fast track, the glove lets a good amount of air filter past your hand. I'm already wearing down the finger tips of the glove. Fox should consider putting a stronger material at the finger tips. This a very good glove for freeriding or racing. Great product.

Strengths:Unlike the sidewinder, this glove is more flexible, and it protects your hands very well. it looks cool too.
Weaknesses:Padding on the pad should be thicker. On long distance ride, you will that there are more cushioning.

Price Paid: $40.00
Purchased At:Landry's
Strengths:Strong and Durible, So soft feels like you don't even have gloves on. Flexible so if you fall they don't get all scraped up.
Weaknesses:Not as thick as most gloves but I guarentee that they are as padded and strong as almost all gloves.
Similar Products Used:Fox Sidewinder and Answer Edge
Bike Setup:2000 Specialized
Bottom Line:Get these I like them better then the sidewinder's. The sidewinders are probably a little stronger but these are so much more comfortable. Get these gloves if you spend a lot of time on your bike like I do.
