Date Reviewed: June 7, 2004
Favorite Trail:anything goes
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Strengths:as said before by other reviewers -> last forever - it´s just unbelievable how firm these gloves are.... i used them for... uum, let me think about it for a moment... 4-5yrs?! used on nearly any occasion gloves were necessary, even for garden working or firecracker lighting.
comfortable, nice grip, the fluffy stuff on the back easily soaks any kind of body-fluid you confront it with
Weaknesses:hard to find a weakness, when you´re using a product for over four years and still haven´t bought a new pair
Similar Products Used:sometimes on colder days -> specialized bg something
Bike Setup:trek 6700disc: in germany it comes with XT-rear derailleur, deore cranks and bb, sh-pd520
Bottom Line:words are failing me - encouraged by my big brother to use these gloves i can´t imagine going without them

saved my hands a couple of times - are extremely durable - definitely earned it´s keeps (price was about 60deutsch mark ~ 30€ nowadays)
go, get´em!

Favorite Trail:any<3ft wide and or rocky, rooted and rutted
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $20.00
Purchased At:I dont recall
Strengths:they breathe pretty good, quality is excellent, they last forever
Weaknesses:This is one of the few things I've purchased for riding that has no drawbacks or problems.
Similar Products Used:Lots of old roady gloves,TLD(seams came unstitched on the first ride.Others Ive tried dont come close to Fox,they fall apart, have a lousy fit etc,etc
Bike Setup:Turner with handlebars and grips to grab onto!(my dream bike)get one, drive an old car!
Bottom Line:These gloves seem to last forever.I bought my second pair of Sierras last year because the colors on the old ones started to look like puke, but the gloves are still hangin in there!I've used them for trail work, digging, sawing ,hauling logs around, fixing bikes, cars, trucks and big slap fights with my buddies!Oh yeah! and lots of ridin' too. They still have all the stitches just a couple little tears.I have some lightweight Fox moto gloves and they didn't hold up as well as these.I got Sidewinders last year, they offer alot more protection for our technical rides, but they're a bit hotter. We'll see how they fare over time.I cut off all the 'protective plastic bumpers'on on the backs of all my gloves. They're alot cooler that way.I won't buy anything but Fox gloves anymore.Every time I try something different because they're on sale I'm really dissapointed.

Submitted by lo_dee a Cross Country Rider from Alberta,Canada
Date Reviewed: May 12, 2002
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Strengths:Extremely comfortable and durable.
Weaknesses:My L.B.S. charged too much, considering what I see you can get them on the Internet for now....but how do you size a glove over the Internet?
Bottom Line:These things have good stitching, good padding and good placement of seams. I have another pair or winter gloves that are warm but the seam is in a bad place and when you brake for some duration it is uncomfortable. No such problem with this glove and of course it helps to take some vibration off from the bar. I have had more than a few spills with these and they have held up fine (just a couple of very small holes on the outside of each pinky finger). I would gladly buy these again. Oh, my velcro tabs are fine. These things fit so fine that I often don't even bother to do up the velcro...they don't come out of place on my hands.

Strengths:Looks great, light, comfortable. Cool enough for the end of summer and warm for 30's
Weaknesses:Velcro strap ripped off after a wash. But sewn back on it is working great. The gel-like substance is forming on the edges of the pads.
Similar Products Used:Sidewinders..
Bike Setup:trek 6500 frame, uracco's, xt kit, avid mag brakes; bonti and ritchey bar, stem, pedals, tires and a seat ofcourse.
Bottom Line:Great gloves for the price, for $10 each i bought like 6 of them...for the future.

Bottom Line:as i said above i do almost every style of riding. These totally get rid of any numbness and feel great. probably the best all around gloves. I have had NO problem with the valcro and i use these atleast 5x a week. I break lots of stuff on accident cause of my strength but unless you TRY to break the velcro i don't think it will happen.

If i need a new pair anytime these will be at the top of my list.

Submitted by Jakob Thyness a Cross-Country Rider from Oslo, Norway
Date Reviewed: July 16, 1999
Duration Product Used:
less than 1 month
Strengths:
Excellent fit, good shock absorption, terry-cloth covered index finger
Weaknesses:
A bit warm for summer, expensive
Similar Products Used:
GT GTX full-finger, Trek Criterium
Bottom Line:I bought these after losing one of my GT gloves (or so I thought), and I like them a lot. Well-fitting gloves are hard to find, but these were spot on. I've tried them out on some really rough rides, and they stand up very well, eliminating any trail buzz. I particularily like the terry-cloth covered index finger, it allows me to wipe away sweat underneath the edge of my helmet BEFORE it reaches my eyes. They're fairly warm, however, and might be more suited for spring/autumn than summer. One thing, though: Why are so many gloves light-coloured on the inside of the palms and fingers? (Mine were a light grey). If you have to fix a flat, or lift a chain back onto your chainrings, or any of a thousand mechanical adjustments cyclists have to make all the time, you have to choose between getting your hands dirty or ruining your gloves. If the palms and fingers were black, everything would be a lot easier.

Date Reviewed: May 8, 1999
Duration Product Used:
less than 1 month
Bottom Line:Good fit. comfortable full-fingered summer glove
Only problem is that the stiching on the velcro tab is comming undone and these gloves are brand new, less then 1 month old with no crashes. I'll just reinforce the stiching, no real biggy now. But if I were to do over I would look at the other brands.

Bottom Line:

these gloves are good. they are light and are cooler than others.a bit more protection on the thumb is needed. the terry cloth gets tatered a bit to fast. needs chunkier knuckle protcetion like sidewinders or pawtectors. good gloves a bit over priced at $44.95.that is good old australian dollars of course!!!!!

Date Reviewed: August 14, 1998
Bottom Line:

These gloves are pretty good, but there was too much spandexy stuff on the side of the first finger, so it moves around a bit, but it is still comfortable, After my first crash they with stood the fall pretty well. They look cool as anything out there. I do love these gloves

Submitted by Pete I a cross-country rider from Wesford, MA
Date Reviewed: July 31, 1998
Bottom Line:

I had the gloves a week, they feel great. First crash revealed the weakness. No protection on the thumb knukle closest to hand. Terry cloth tore open and knuckle lost lots of skin. FOX, please wrap the palm stuff over this knuckle, there will be plenty of exposed terry cloth to wipe off sweat.

Bottom Line:

Ignore all other reports these gloves rock had then for eigh months &have never had a problem padded in just the right places these gloves are worth the cash you pay which in passing is very little. Hell comfortable more than warm enough, they live up to the phrase fit like a glove. Never move around whist riding like more O'niell gloves did. Do yourself a favour buy these gloves.

Bottom Line:

These gloves are very nice...I have small hands for a tall dude, and I must say that I love the way these things fit so far in cross country duty. However, how the do in other ways remains to be seen once I take them up and wring them out on the FS bike at some stupid ski area. Ah well...I likes them.

Submitted by Ken a weekend warrior from California
Date Reviewed: January 15, 1998
Bottom Line:

These are okay full-fingered gloves. They look pretty cool, but aren't as warm as I thought they would be.
Also, they don't fit well, but maybe that's because I have small hands. The fingers fit well, but the glove
bunches up and rubs against the handlebar. It would have been an acceptable glove if it didn't cost $36. Oh
well.
