Strengths:
Full thumb, plus much more for the older generations, although that's irrelevant now
Weaknesses:
The new generation ('09): Runs small, poor construction, practically no padding, useless little straps with velcro that came off after 2 rides. After a couple of months of use, I'm done... I'm back to using some old ones for now.
Similar Products Used:

Bike Setup:

Bottom Line:
I'm really disappointed in the new gloves. I've been a huge, loyal fan of the Mojave gloves since my first pair in '98, and they only seemed to improve the excellent glove each generation after that... until now; the new gloves are junk. It saddens me, really. Get it together Fox... I guess it's time to move on and find an new favorite, although full thumbs are hard to find.

Love my old Mojave gloves. Had them around ten years. I finally just completely wore them out. My new ones were a complete redesign. First impressions were that they did not fit as well (a little tighter) and did not seem to be as heavy duty. The velcro closures in particular seemed flimsy. In fact, after only four rides, the velcro closure on my left glove broke completely. Very disappointing. Would love to have a new pair like the old ones...the closure is still good on those! I will be replacing my new ones soon, but honestly don't know with what.

Hold up great. I've had two pairs of these gloves over the past 6+ years and never have they frayed or fallen apart
Weaknesses:
When mine get wet from sweat they stretch and become dangerous. This doesn't occur right when they are new but slowly over time so that after about a summer of riding, it is hard to hold on to the handle bars after my hands start sweating.
Bottom Line:
The only reason I got rid of my first pair was because I had to cut the glove off of my broken hand.
Even though mine aren't showing much wear & tear, I'm needing a new pair due to the stretching. Debating whether or not to give a different brand a try.

Absolutely the best gloves I have ever owned! Perfect for XC riding, very comfortable even in 90+ degree riding. So far no fraying or ripping of seams. I have OTB'd with these and not a scuff. Also washed regularly when it starts to stink and it has held up great.
I wear a size 11 and the fit is great while a size 11 on a Fox Dirtpaw is a bit snug. Same company so the sizing should be the same right? Go figure.
I have the '08 model and is a lot better looking than the previous years. I would most definitely buy again if/when this pair eventually wears out.

Strengths:
The smaller three fingers, as well as the outer part of the hand constructed well. Semi padded back hand. Fit very snuggly for appropriate size, which is a plus. The velcro strap was small and therefore did not protrude.
Weaknesses:
The outer portion of the thumb (60-70%) was constructed of terry cloth/super thin nylon (literally as thin as pantyhose nylon)with very thin FOAM (very weak foam at that)sandwiched and GLUED between the two. The outer part of the index finger was constructed in the same way. Barely stretching the material caused the inner layer of foam to pull apart and break up. Add the necessary post ride washings to that and you have a glove that is very likely to degrade rapidly on the portion of the hand that holds most of the riders weight. The Fox logo on top of the hand took up space that should have been reserved for more mesh for further ventilation
Similar Products Used:

Bike Setup:

Bottom Line:
Would have been a very good glove if the terry cloth was minus the foam, and double wrapped then stitched. This would have given the glove, roughly the same thickness but giving it better durability and greater longevity. On a note of personal opinion, the glove would have also scored higher marks if it had a short thumb, thereby giving the fit more of a consistent feel (something of which many full finger gloves lack).

As soon as I cut the tip of the thumb off and re-sewed to prevent fraying, the glove fit like.... well a glove! My hands don't get hot in these at all, and I have no worries about them not lasting for some time to come. Not a lot of padding in the palm, but that's the way I like it. Weaknesses:
If any I would say these gloves are approx $5-$10 mor expensive than most of the other gloves my LBS carries. I guess you get what you pay for though. I'd rater be out $30 for a pair of these gloves than spend $15-$20 on several pair of the other brands (Pearl).

Gone through crashes on the trail with no marks - I feel safe in these things. Only problem is the stitching that gets alittle unraveled - but just cut off the strings and looks like new. You do have to wash them after a while or they get funky. When I washed my Gray ones, they got this slight purple hue, but no big deal. I love em. For the money - a totally great deal.

-Thumb: wore it out in 3 months! Too many seams around that area as well. -Protection: In a forest with things such as _trees_, riding is very painful as your knuckles begin bleeding after contact with branches. -Price!!!
Bottom Line:
When bying these, I thought that price might bring quality but now my thumbs are sticking out from the soft fabric on that part of the glove. Not very nice. And yes, they are the right size for me. I'll definitely go for long-fingered gloves next time around, these offer a minimal amount of protection against branches in the sort of dense forests in this part of the world. I'll probably also try another brand because if Fox uses fabrics this flimsy I don't want to take the risk of wasting more money. If you don't have to fight trees when riding then you'll appreciate the short fingers. They're a lot cooler on your hands than full-length gloves.

Strengths:
Strengths? Yes, exactly, these gloves have strengths like a pair of very expensive all leather work gloves. They break in like a pair of Levi's. This is first class stuff, extremely durable, and reminicent of other great, rough and tumble, enduring American products, such as Zippo lighters and Craftsman toolsets.
Weaknesses:
Like just about everyone else in this forum says, when they break-in, they get extremely loose and it would be great if FOX had that printed on the label--to make sure and buy a tight fit. I've never seen any other glove loosen up like that; on the other hand, the way they break-in (like a leather baseball glove) is what makes them so good.
Similar Products Used:
Specialized Body Geometrics--or something like that--and Fox Longhorns.
What makes these gloves feel and wear so well is that the palm is extremely well constructed of leather without too much fancy, high-tech padding. On the other hand, like many other people, I had problems with my hands going numb on even moderately long rides of less than 10 miles and couldn't take it anymore, so I switched to Specialized Body Geometry gloves--which I'm not entirely happy with either because they're really designed for road (drop) handlebars. Fox would do well to increase the padding on this glove, using leather instead of foam or whatever that crap is they put in other gloves. I think just one more layer of leather protecting the meatier areas of the palms would do the trick.
In the end, these are great gloves if you're not riding for hours at a time, and especially if you need something for really rough conditions. Despite the high quality and durability, I could only really recommend these gloves to weekend warriors.

I have used these gloves for over 2 years. I have abused them in every way I can think of - mud, rain, hot/dry conditions, etc. they have endured the test of time with honors. The only thing I have noticed is that the color on the top is starting to fade a bit (like that's a big deal). The velcro strap and glove structure are still in excellent shape despite being washed on a regular basis (could be the reason for the color fade...). I have had no stitching problems or stretching problems as others have mentioned here. I even used these gloves on a century ride and they worked great in that arena too. My experiences have been nothing but stellar - nice job Fox!!!

I've planted these gloves on rocks, mud, creeksbeds, trees, wooden bridges, you name it. Where there is leather, my hands have been protected. It's true, these gloves perhaps don't offer the thickest padding, but I prefer that. With thick, cushy padding, I feel the need to grip the bar tighter, making my hands sore and my shoulders tire out sooner. These are great mild weather gloves. After nearly six months of frequent riding, I have not had any of the common problems mentioned in this review. I have to give 'em five inflamed goobers.

So so glove, look else where for more padding and comfort. If you don't need the padding get a size that fits tight, because it will loosen up as soon as you start riding. They seem to be made out a quality material and your hands stay dry even under extreme conditions.

Now, after about 3-4 months of regular weekend use (no major falls that could rip or tear) these gloves have a seam that has completely unraveled itself. I would not buy another pair of these gloves. I submitted a negative review for these gloves in June. Well I have worn the pair which I got as a replacement from the bike shop. They indeed do look and wear good, but they are not holding up. The absorbent terry on the thumb wraps too far around the thumb and rides on the grip. It is wearing thin already on the seam where it joins the amara. To bad. Such a nice looking glove. I believe it is poorly designed and tested by those who make it, but I don't know about that. What I do know is I did not get my moneys worth. They are not cheap gloves. Cost more than many others. Only one chili please.

The reviews for this glove are all over the place, and I can see why. They are a great set of gloves - they look great, and seem to be very well made. They are comfortable, if they fit. My set has the left glove SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than the right, despite the fact that they are both the same size on their labels. I haven't had them for long, so I'm hoping the left will stretch as I only tried on the right. So, really good, provided you get the right size for both hands. TRY BOTH OF 'EM ON!!!

This glove looks cool and provides adequate protection and absorption of sweat and vibration. I like gloves with not too thick padding since my grips take half the load, and the Fox Mojave fits like a glove (no pun intended). However, the Mojave fails miserably in workmanship. It only took two rides and the stitching on the wrist strap of the hook side (of the velcro) gave way. Not long afterwards, the stitching on the Mount of Venus gave way too. While I don't expect my gloves to last forever, but 3 months falls terribly short of my expectations, considering I an merely a weekend warrior.

3/4 finger Mojaves. Feel good, not TOO hot, but the velcro is TOO effective for the stitching on the strap. After about 40 miles, I have one strap for one pair of gloves. I guess I got the right size though, because the glove that is missing the velcro strap still fits nicely and stays on even through the bumpiest, turniest single-trak. Look elsewhere if you like your glove to stay in one piece for the long haul...or even a short haul in this case. 2 Chilis. 1 if the stap affected how they fit my hands.

I bought the Fox Mojave (3/4 finger) gloves because I wanted some protection from my GripShifts eating up my thumbs and index fingers. I bought them also because I've heard Fox is a pretty good brand...well, they may make good products, but I have to rate these gloves pretty low. After about 2 months the seams on the fingertips started to rip. Now it looks really tacky even after I've sewn them up, and other spots are ripping too. I do NOT think these gloves are worth the price. I am really disappointed. May I mention the padding in the palm is also pretty inadequate. Poorly constructed overall.

I purchased a pair of Mojave gloves from a good bike shop. The third time I wore them the Velcro strap broke. It was sewn twice and the needle actually cut the tab almost through. The tab has no reinforcement fibers in it. Very weak. I am not hard on gloves. I ride off road fifty or so times a year and get years of service from good gloves. I took them back to the shop which is 35 miles away and they exchanged them for another pair; no problem. I hope they will last better because they wear and ride good. It is hard for me to believe that FOX with their experience would put a tab on a glove this sorry. They are obviously going for looks and not durability and quality. One chili.

My sidewinders are starting to rip at the fingers, and i have only been wearing them for 3 months. You need a glove that stays comfortable after 2 hrs, and one that doesn't start ripping to shreds in a few rides. Fox gloves don't come close to any of the above. They're a bit of a rip-off too.

I recently acquired the Fox Mojave (3/4 forefinger, full thumb) gloves. As of this writing, they are in the mail somewhere on their way back for a pair of some different gloves. Initially, I thought that the Mojave's looked like they were of quality construction, and I liked the idea of having a full thumb and longer forefinger for gripshift, whilst still sporting normal half-cut other fingers. And man, do these gloves look phat as a bag o'doritos on a hungry day. I couldn't wait to take em' out for a spin, especially because they got that delicious new shoe smell to em'. Unfortunately, the Mojave's only lasted one ride. With each bump I went over, the Mojaves seemed to amplify the impact. No kidding. I got the right size and everything, too, and when I got them, even though the padding seemed minimal, I figured maybe it was well placed or something to absorb the hits. Holy Moses, was I ever wrong! These gloves suck bad. Real bad. I've used $10-$15 Avenirs that blow the Mojaves away. My hands hurt for like two days after a not so bumpy one-hour ride, and that was it, I said to myself, mIKUs, buddy, don't ever wear these suckers again. I think that a glove's job is to provide comfort to your hand(maybe I'm crazy or something). Seeing how the Fox Mojave did the exact opposite, in causing me physical pain, not to mention extreme disappointment, I would like to give the Mojave gloves no more than ZERO flaming feces coated chillies.
