I never would have thought a shoe could make you a better rider before I rode these. The traction these shoes provide is absolutely confidence inspiring through the rough stuff and in the air. Wearing these it feels hard to find a wrong pedal position and the extra toe protection is nice when you catch a rock.
I'm also nicely surprised by the fit. I have wide (E/EE) feet that make finding comfy shoes a challenge and after a couple break in rides these things feel great. So far I'm hooked.

Bottom Line:
Combined with the Tioga MX Pro platform pedals, these work excellent.
I have been using toe clips and straps since 85, and could never adapt to clipless pedals despite a couple dozen failed attempts, so I stuck with what worked.
I really like this new setup!! These shoes stick like glue. I can power the pedals almost all the way around the stroke, but when I want out, I am out!! It is nice to be able to restart on a tricky uphill, and just go. And on scary downhills it is a relief knowing you wont be stuck if you need out, which gives you more confidence to just go. If you do dab, you just put the foot back on and go. I went down a trail with a section of 18" stair steps and loose rocks, and my foot never even hinted at coming off the pedals!!

Strengths:
Stiff sole, fairly good grip, ankle support/protection
Weaknesses:
Footbed feels hard as a brick, making them not very comfortable. The sizing seems a little bit small, so you might need to go a half-size bigger, especially if you want to put in an nice soft insole.

Bottom Line:
Meh. Yes, the have good grip on the pedals, but I think the level of grip depends more on the pins in the pedal than the shoe. The hightop is nice, but overall the shoe isn't very comfortable. Personally, I would save your money and buy a cheap pair of skateboard shoes.

Highly recommend! i need to order another pair to have on hand for when these wear out 5-10 yrs from now...

Awesome Construction, looks, ankle support, ingress, and egress, high shock absorpton, gorilla grip, one of the few high tops available in any category and relativley light weight.
These work awesome, I can't imagine bike specific shoes working any better. Someone mentioned it before..They make you a better rider , not only knowing your feet won't come off but you need to make sure of your foot positioning before you set off, I've gotten good at positioning my feet right off the bat now, and even readjusting if need be. It's just that they grip so well they take a little getting used too, but it's a very positive thing. I like the styling also and will probably order more sets for street and casual use as well.
If this applies, maybe be careful on your moms floors they will leave a mark if you shuffle..this might not be a bad thing but , it's more a testament to their desire to become one with whatever they come in contact with...But let it be known so we don't upset mom...
These grip so well in fact, that it would be good to be cautious the first few times you ride ,until you get used to them. Repositioning your feet can take some getting used to. I find it's easiest to stop the pedal at the highest point to reposition a foot on the fly..
If you really want grip out of your set up and don't want to go clipless, these are the soloution.

Bottom Line:
Get these shoes.
I normally wear Vans and I thought the waffle iron soles worked really well until i ran into these. These blow Vans out of the water(they still make good shoes)and they make the perfect freeriding/downhilling shoe. Tons of grip and you'll never fall off and I'm not even exagerrating this at all because I love the shoes so much. Simply, you'll become a better rider because not only will your feet stick to the pedals that much better, but you'll have confidence to go bigger cause you know your feet won't slip and roll your ankle. Great shoe, highly recommend it and they aren't too expensive.

Bike Setup:
Azonic Steelhead ZuZu's Pedals
Bottom Line:
I find these very comfortable and they look good enough to wear off the bike. I use these mostly for riding but also for day hiking. I normally wear 10.5 or 11 E size shoe. I bought the size 11 and it is a good fit with lightweight socks.
They stick really well. I can't quite pedal in a circle with these, but I can pedal at least 270 degrees. There is zero float once you put your foot on the pedal. Your foot position is not going to change until you lift up your foot.
After a year of light use they have virtually no wear, just a couple of nicks on the bottom. These shoes are way more hardcore than me, but I still like em.
