E13 Chain guide with a 38t chainring, Manitou Minute fork, Sun wheelset, Azonic riser bar and X9 shifter and rear deraileur. | | Bottom Line: | Great all around performer. $1500.00 | | Purchased At: | Dick's Sporting Good | | Strengths: | Good bang for your buck if you want a good 4" air sprung xc rig and don't have tons of money in your bank account. Knuckle box design is very good design, active travel with little pedal feed back, but climbs amazingly well. The knuckle box keeps center of gravity low, which in turns give you lighting fast responsive handle in technical switchbacks. Frame is very durable and bearings are all sealed. Hayes stroker disc brakes work well to keep you in control. Lx/Deore drivetrain work pretty darn well. | | Weaknesses: | None really, if you don't like kenda small block 8 tires put something else on it. And comes with plastic platform pedals, I would change them right out. | | Similar Products Used: | 08' Diamondback Mission 2, 2004 Tomac Eli; Schwinn homegrown-98' 4 banger -98' factory ht - 2000 factory team, schwinn moab 2 98' | | Bike Setup: | Stock; Rock shox recon xc w/ rebound(can upgrade to remote lock out), Fox Float R, Deore, cassette, shifters, frt der, lx rear der, deore hollow tech II BB crankset, Hayes Stroker ride Disc, WTB Speed Disc Rims w/ no name hubs. Easton seatpost and stem, avenir riser bar. shimano chain | | Bottom Line: | Good bang for your buck. I sell this at mt store and we are closing them out at $1499.(1800 msrp) Great way to get into the better higher end bikes in the grand sceam of things. This bike will need better pedals but can handle some long hard rides and is a killer value. 4 chilis for the plastic pedals. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
