$400.00 | | Strengths: | remarkably strong frame. Light / thin Chromo frame reinforced by welded carbon fibre (Hence the name). This easily has the strength of Alloy with comparable weight but is less rigid and therefore more comfortable ride. Never had so much as a bent wheel. | | Weaknesses: | The brakes were not V brakes when purchased but had high lever centre pulls. These were fairly pants from day one. Currently use Avid Digit 7s. Seat post is stuck, thankfully at a good height. No quick release on seat post probable cause (Could never be bothered to move it.) | | Bottom Line: | An excellent fusion of technologies. Surprised to see in hindsight that this didn't take off more.
Mine is the 1999 model and I've been hammering it ever since . Still looks great too. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
