Price Paid:

Purchased At:

Strengths:
Nothing is strong but it reasonably light, feels comfy an doesn't handle like the flying pig...oh yeah an its a piece of piss 2 bunny/backhop
Weaknesses:
where 2 begin?the saddle is 2 wide, the pedals don't grip, the grips fall apart, the back wheel doesn't stand much abuse an the cranks creak. It suffers from chronic chainsuck, which a few days ago snapped the back end off the frame(the chain, rear mech an cables, as well as snapping the rear mech hanger an putting a HUGE dent in the seat stays.oh yeah, the forks don't move much either....
Similar Products Used:

Bottom Line:
this bike was fine until i started riding it hard....then the wheels started 2 wobble, the cranks creak and then finally i snapped the rear mech hanger an can't find another. Like i say this was fine, just don't ride it 2 hard coz then it literally starts 2 fall 2 pieces

The light weight frame, shimano parts, rapid fire shifters.
Weaknesses:
The seat could use more work, better cushioned, better post.
Similar Products Used:

Bike Setup:
Handle bar extensions, custome peddals and brake levers. Custom seat.
Bottom Line:
This is the my favorite of my four bikes. This is the best bike that I have ever owned. The bike rides better than any other bike I have ever ridden. I would gladdly recomend this bike to any ridder that wants a good bike for weekend ridding or even more.

Strengths:
Price- only $299 as a leftover. Frame,Rapidfire shifters,Alvio parts(hey, it was only $299) Looks like a much more expensive bike.
Weaknesses:
Fork and seat both suck, tires-not the best, not crazy about the rise handlebars. I felt real guitly buying from Dicks' and not a LBS.
Similar Products Used:
Giant Yukon, Specialized Hardrock
Bike Setup:
Stock for now, (except for toe baskets) Will add a better fork in the future.
Bottom Line:
Great bike for the price. This was my 1st bike and I was on a $400 budget. For $299 I couldn't pass this bike up. It is a great mt. bike for a first time rider(me) but has its limitations when you start to ride hard. If I continue to ride, I will either upgrade the parts or buy a new bike. For its price you can't find a better bike unless you buy used, and with the extra $100 I bought my wife a Sam's Club bike so she can try riding too.

Strengths:
Great value for the price. Strong, lightweight aluminum frame. Decent components.
Weaknesses:
None that I can find yet, other than I am going to upgrade the derailers and the pedals.
Similar Products Used:
Raleigh, GT, Trek, Cannondale- I can't even remember all the model numbers of the other bikes I looked at.
Bike Setup:
Basically stock although I plan on adding XT derailers and better pedals.
Bottom Line:
I bought this bike a month ago (6/00) and got a great deal since it is last years model. This is the first "real" mtb I've owned. The bike works well on off road trails and bike paths with my kids. My brother is jealous since I bought the last remaining bike my lbs had in stock and he can't seem to find one for himself. I would recomend this bike to anyone upgrading from a department store bike like I did.

Duration Product Used:

Strengths:
This bike has a great frame and good components to start out with for the price.Plus I liked the ball burnished w/ red and black trim.
Weaknesses:
The front shock should be replaced if you are going to be riding hard.
Similar Products Used:
GT aggressor
Bike Setup:
I upgraded my bike for racing by going with: a Rock Shox Jett XC long throw (the jett is lighter than the judy or indy), a KORE ELite stem, Titec hellbent Endro DH handlebars, XT shifter/brake pods, XT V-brakes, XT FT & RR derailers, XT cassette, XT bottom bracket, XT cranck set, and XTR chain.
Bottom Line:
This bike was a great buy and rides real good in all conditions, plus it has an awsome superlight alumium frame to build on. Now that I have upgraded to better components it rides better than some of my friends bikes that cost $1200 to $2500. My advice is to buy this bike and upgrade as you go it's a great bike.

Strengths:
Tight handling, good Alivio components, apparently tough frame
Bottom Line:
I'm considering buying this bike, as soon as I scrape up $400. My last bike was a Huffy Revolution, the drivetrain finally bit the dust after seven years of trails it was never intended for. I want another tough bike that will last a long time. If you have any recommendations, let me know.

The frame on this bike is very strong and for the price, the front suspension serves its purpose well.
Weaknesses:
The suspension is not adjustible but what can you expect for $400. I don't like the colors either.
Similar Products Used:
GT Aggressor
Bottom Line:
I would say that this is a good bike for a begginer but if you can, get the GT Aggressor and replace the GT's suspension with some ROck Shox. The colors annoy me very much and the crappy suspension doesn't make up for the low cost.

Bottom Line:
I have had this bike a month now and have used it in a wide range of road conditions including over snow and ice. It is great. Shifting is very smooth. Braking is excellent. The front suspension does its job well. I find myself looking for bad spots to ride through. A very good bike for the price.
