Submitted by 6t8cat a Cross Country Rider from Germany
Date Reviewed: August 1, 2008
Favorite Trail:Tour 3
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $250.00
Purchased At:a friend
Strengths:Great bike, Rock Shox front end. Brakes will stop with the quickness.
Weaknesses:Brake and shifter cables will wear through the frame up front from the constant rubbing, recommend zip in a couple of spots
Similar Products Used:Diamondback Outlook. Great bike but heavy as a boat anchor and only 21 speeds.
Bike Setup:Stock
Bottom Line:I am 67inches, the bike is maybe a half inch or so too tall for me, but I use clipless pedals that put me into a good body position. As with all my bikes I check every bolt. I have no doubts this bike will compete with many other FS bikes at half the cost. I plan to use this bikes in several MTB races here in Germany.

Submitted by Alfonso Pinto a Cross Country Rider from Whittier
Date Reviewed: November 3, 2007
Favorite Trail:Turnbull Canyon
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $530.00
Purchased At:Whittier Cyclery
Strengths:Very nice ride quality. Name Brand Parts(Rockshox,Truativ,Weinmann,WTB,Shimano Deore) Nice disc brakes, Nice Bright Red paint, Jealous friends/neighbors/family,Tires,Constant Compliments,Comfortable Seat, I find it a pretty good Climber
Weaknesses:Might Be a Little Heavy for some, but im just speaking in general. Weight seems reasonable to me. Had some problems with the pedals and Brakes but the guys at the shop took care of that fast. Also had some derailer problems but no biggy. Seat may be too high for some but that can be solved by obviously cutting it, the guys at the shop did that for me
Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:Everything on my bike is stock except for the rear shock. The shock the bike comes with is ok but i upgraded to a Fox Float Vanilla R that was slightly used but works real good and got it from a guy for only $20 bucks! The air shock really changed the whole ride quality on the bike
Bottom Line:Diamondback makes a great bang for your buck bike that really proves to be a good value. I'm very satisfied with this product and will definitely buy another Diamondback product(Im really interested in the Mission 3 as my next bike). Though this is an "entry level" bike its good quality and feels more expensive. If you have the money upgrade the rear shock to an air shock like myself. This bike has an Msrp of $699 so you know your getting something good. I got the 2006 model but its relatively the same as the 2007 except for a different fork and brakes....I recommend this bike to anyone who wants a full suspension bike at a great price with great parts.
