Submitted by Eric a Cross Country Rider from Korea
Date Reviewed: July 12, 2002
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $20.00
Purchased At:Sun 'n Spokes
Strengths:Easily the most attention getting tail light i've ever seen.
Weaknesses:Seat post mount only. Will not fit on large diameter (specialized) seat posts. Dissasembly difficult.
Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:99 Hard Rock, basically stock.
Bottom Line:You absolutely cannot have a more eye grabbing light than this. It has 5 water-clear-red LEDs. The center led is a super jumbo size while the 4 surrounding it are a more normal size. This light has two buttons located on the underside of the unit, power and mode. Pressing the buttons while riding the bike is easiliy accomplished with minimal practice. The light appears to cover 180 degrees but I have not measured it to verify this. The light has two mode: Constant lights all LEDs all the time, MultiStar flashes the LEDs in a random seizure inducing pattern. In constant mode it is no more noticible than any tail light, in multistar mode you cannot miss it. Clip on and release from the seat post mount is quick and secure. The only light that could possibly be better in my opinion is the Trek Disco Inferno but I have not seen it in person so I cannot provide a comparison.
