Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $2300.00
Bottom Line:No wonder why these guys invented the mt rides. This is a unique and awesome bike. I rode it full xtr and carbon lefty and so far can't get enough of it. Carbon was an option but 0.5 pounds weight increase vs $2000 bucks on top doesn't seems like a good deal. I high;ly recommend it.

Date Reviewed: October 22, 2008
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $2100.00
Purchased At:Ski Rack Burlington
Strengths:Light, fast, strong
Weaknesses:Mixed bag of components, decent shifters and rear derailleur X9s, crank set bb not so much (changed them out immidately with some K-Force lights) not a big fan of the handle bars.
Bike Setup:Stock with the following upgrades... K-Force Lite crankset/ and bottom bracket/ Look quartz peadles/ and Easton carbon handlebars
Bottom Line:Three weeks after getting this bike I competed in the Transalp Challenge, and rode it for the first six stages until I bent the front wheel and had no replacement, and was forced back on my Stumpjumer FSR. The bike was great and found myself consistantly passing riders on the climbs.

This is a great bike, it is the best climbing bike I have come across, it is super light, and handles really well. The Lefty takes a few rides to get used to.

If you want a great XC racing bike but can't affort the sticker shock for carbon, you would have to look far and wide to find a better bike than this.

Favorite Trail:Palos park, 3 ravines
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $1700.00
Purchased At:Dan's Bike
Strengths:Pretty light, very fast, very responsive. Climbs really well. Seems strong for a "XC" bike.
Weaknesses:Lefty is a little goofy but it is a great fork. Saddle is not the best.
Similar Products Used:Trek 8500 Carbon MTB.
Bike Setup:Stock.
Bottom Line:A very nicely put together bike that is very fast but still strong enough to take some drops!
